The Majestoso Skatepark project was developed as a response to a long-standing community demand for a Skatepark in Olhão. Its design concept is inspired by the city’s maritime and fishing heritage, translating the form and structure of a traditional boat into skateable architectural elements. The park combines street and ramp typologies, offering different levels of difficulty for users of all ages. Cultural identity is reinforced through symbolic references to the “Majestoso” and old and heavy iron train track used by everyone, a local icon for the skating community. The project creates a multifunctional public space that strengthens urban identity, social interaction, and active outdoor use.
