APOC Store店铺改造丨英国伦敦丨Barnaby Lewis

Only six months after opening up shop, the APOC Store sheds its inaugural cloak, opting for ethereal, even more pristine white premises instead. The London-based retailer, founded by duo Ying Suen and Jules Volleberg, initially operated as an online fashion treasure trove, featuring a forward curation of apparel, accessories, bags, women’s shoes and objects by a string of young designers from London and across the planet. And now, with the help of local furniture maker, blacksmith, and sculptor Barnaby Lewis, the APOC Store has unveiled this bold transformation. Mind you, it’s the first iteration of an irregular cycle of store transformations with creatives, and Lewis’s vision is, as said, a pristine blank canvas, but scattered around the retail space is a wide variety of his creations.

The artist approaches furniture as a form of quiet architecture, and his hand-made pieces ooze a quirky quality which combines an honesty and respect to the freedom, versatility, and from a sustainable standpoint, also the recyclability of steel. Comprising tables, chairs, lamps and other home objects, each piece is crafted with self-taught techniques on an ever increasing collection of old industrial machinery, and constantly transitions between decorative sculpture and functional object. Needless to say, APOC Store‘s new white backdrop not only allows Lewis’s fantastical pieces to effortlessly stand out, but also create an intriguing dialogue the merchandise on offer.
