2025年9月，大星吉子工作室受邀为“永定河集”创作公共艺术装置。“永定河集”位于北京石景山脚下、永定河畔，生长于自然与工业遗址交织的地带。项目以“轻介入、重延展”的方式在山水与遗址之间重塑空间秩序，构筑出建筑、艺术与商业共生的场域。

In September 2025, Daxing Jizi Design was commissioned to create a new public art installation for Yong Ding He Ji, a Beijing destination dedicated to lifestyle innovation.Set at the foot of Shijingshan and along the Yongding River, Yong Ding He Ji rises from a landscape where nature and industrial remnants converge. Guided by a light-touch approach that adapts and extends the existing terrain, the project reshapes the relationship between mountain, water and former factory grounds, creating a shared realm for architecture, art and commerce.

作品“八面游戏”——它以八边形类似折纸般的轻盈姿态，对首钢园标志性的工业烟囱进行拓扑转译，像是在纸面剪下的半透明彩色叶片在风中缓缓旋转、交叠，色彩在运动中叠加、流转，如同一座不断重组的光谱剧场，这里的时间、色彩与自然力相互游戏。

With an octagonal frame and a form echoing paper folds, OctaPlay reimagines Shougang Park’s iconic chimneys as a delicate, abstract form in motion. Translucent discs, evoking delicate paper cuts, rotate gently in the wind. As they move, colors layer and blend, creating a continuously shifting spectrum—a stage where time, light, and natural forces dance in harmony.

八面玲珑

Eightfold Grace

首钢园的硬核环境令人震撼。面对巨大的工业遗存，我们萌生了用交叠金属片编织形式的想法。在深化过程中，材料演变为一轻一重两种，组合方式也从单纯的编织发展为折纸与套叠的结合。所有这些想法自然整合，最终呈现出完整的形态。

The monumental scale of Shougang Park is awe-inspiring. Confronted with these vast industrial structures, the team first envisioned a form woven from overlapping metal sheets. As the design evolved, materials became a dialogue of heavy and light elements, and the assembly transformed from simple weaving into a hybrid of folding and layering, culminating in a form unites elegance and conceptual richness.

项目后期，我们在现场驻留了很长时间。每天面对那些巨大的黑色构筑物，更渴望在其中融入一些轻盈。装置的金属骨架原本是黑色，但最终我们选择银色和背面的桃色——这也是对首钢园的再次回应，我们希望它更轻灵一些。

In the later stages of the project, the designers spent extended periods on site. Confronted daily by the towering black structures, they felt an ever-stronger impulse to bring a sense of lightness into the space. The installation’s metal framework, initially black, was ultimately finished in silver, with a soft peach on the reverse—a renewed dialogue with Shougang Park and a gesture toward lightness.

风的游戏

Wind’s Choreography

风，是这场视觉韵律的隐形指挥家。装置上方的彩色叶片，像是被自然注入灵魂的活页。它们在气流中自在旋转，时而重叠，时而疏离。半透明的材质，让色彩在交错中混合、在运动中渐变——那是风在空间中留下的彩色轨迹。

Wind serves as the unseen maestro guiding this play of motion and color. Suspended above, the colored discs move like loose pages stirred by the wind. Positioned at varying depths, they rotate freely, sometimes aligning, sometimes drifting into shifting angles, each following its own rhythm. Their translucent surfaces blend hues in motion, forming fluid gradients—chromatic traces left in the air by the wind’s passage.

当阳光穿过转动的叶片，在地面投下不断游移的色斑，观众便成为这场光影戏剧的一部分。风动、影动，心情也随之轻旋。自然之力不再只是背景，而是装置真正的内容。

When sunlight passes through the rotating discs, drifting patches of colored light scatter across the ground, drawing visitors into a choreography of light and shadow. As the wind stirs, these shifting hues dance across the space—and moods rise with them. Nature becomes not merely a backdrop, but the very subject of the installation.

公共的留白

A Blank Canvas for the Public

“八面游戏”位于永定河集——一个汇聚创意与城市活动的开放聚场。与其他功能明确的小建筑不同，这个装置跨越在艺术与建筑之间的模糊地带，不定义具体功能，却以开放的姿态邀请人们进入、停留、感知，为公众提供别样的体验。

OctaPlay sits within Yong Ding He Ji, an open venue for creativity and urban cultural engagement. Unlike functional structures, the installation occupies the in-between territory of art and architecture. It prescribes no specific use; instead, it invites visitors to enter, linger and sense the space, offering a different kind of public experience.
