Paris duo Hauvette & Madani’s latest project is a beautifully considered apartment for a young couple with just the right touch of whimsy. Located in the Sablons neighbourhood, near Neuilly-sur-Seine, within a traditional residential building, Samantha Hauvette and Lucas Madani’s warm, textured, and undeniably sophisticated sensibility shines through.

The studio has built a reputation for interiors that feel timeless rather than trendy, and this apartment delivers exactly that. Wood dominates the colour palette, giving the space a grounded, earthy quality that runs through every room.

The dining area flows into the living space, anchored by a long custom storage unit and a striking artwork by Mickaël Doucet. Vintage finds from Galerie Gastou bring personality — including Ettore Sottsass chairs with names you can’t forget (“Miss, don’t you like caviar” and “In Praise of Epicurus,” the latter painted a punchy turquoise). The dining table is from the studio’s own Entremets collection.

Over in the living room, Marc Held’s curvy 1967 “Culbuto” chair steals attention alongside a vintage Roger Capron coffee table. It’s got that quiet, gallery-like calm — but you’d still want to sink into that Bolia sofa with a glass of wine.

The kitchen is where things get playful. A turquoise ceramic floor pairs with oak cabinetry and marble surfaces, injecting energy into an otherwise restrained palette. It’s a bold move that really lifts the space.

The bedroom wraps you in tobacco tones and rich textures, framed by dramatic drapes. Wall lights and bedside tables from the studio’s Amuse Bouche collection keep things cohesive. Two bathrooms — one minimal and elegant, the other clad in sky-blue tiles — complete the private quarters.

What makes this project feel special is how personal it is. Sculptures by Samantha’s mother, Yvette Hauvette, sit alongside the duo’s own furniture and lighting designs. It’s curated to the max, yes, but never cold.
