由维思平主持设计的中山生命科学园是翠亨新区生物医药产业的龙头项目,以“立体复合、开放共享、产业赋能”为核心设计理念,精准契合大湾区高密度、高强度产业发展趋势。项目深度融合生物医药科技属性与建筑创新思维,集成总部经济、创新研发、企业孵化等多元功能,构建高附加值产业生态体系,更以三大维度的独特设计突破,塑造出具有高识别性与标杆意义的新一代产业园区。
Designed by VSP, the Zhongshan Life Science Park is a leading project in the Cuiheng New Area’s biomedical industry. With “three-dimensional integration, open sharing, and industrial empowerment” as its core design concept, it precisely aligns with the high-density, high-intensity industrial development trend of the Greater Bay Area.The project deeply integrates the attributes of biomedical technology with innovative architectural thinking, integrating headquarters economy, innovative R&D, and business incubation to build a high-value-added industrial ecosystem. Furthermore, it achieves a new generation of industrial parks with highly recognizable and benchmark significance through unique design breakthroughs in three dimensions.

形式创新:地域基因与产业符号的视觉重构
I. Formal Innovation: Visual Reconstruction of Regional Genes and Industrial Symbols
项目在形式表达上实现了地域特色与产业属性的双重赋能,形成极具辨识度的建筑形象体系。规划层面以多维融合为核心,采用“中心广场+中央花园+模块化街区”的复合布局,让功能分区与空间流线形成高效互联的有机整体,打破传统产业园区的割裂式布局局限。地域适应性设计是另一大亮点。设计团队引入开放街区理念,深度挖掘岭南建筑智慧,通过骑楼遮阳、架空层通风等地域手法放大首层公共空间,既营造出通透灵动的空间质感,又精准适配亚热带气候特征,实现建筑与自然环境的和谐共生。▼模型,Model ©维思平建筑设计

In terms of formal expression, the project achieves a dual empowerment of regional characteristics and industrial attributes, forming a highly recognizable architectural image system. At the planning level, multi-dimensional integration is the core, adopting a composite layout of “central square + central garden + modular blocks,” allowing functional zoning and spatial flow to form an efficient and interconnected organic whole, breaking the limitations of the fragmented layout of traditional industrial parks. Regionally adapted design is another major highlight. The design team introduced the concept of an open street block, deeply exploring the wisdom of Lingnan architecture. Through regional techniques such as arcade shading and elevated ventilation, the design amplifies the ground-floor public space, creating a transparent and dynamic spatial texture while precisely adapting to the characteristics of the subtropical climate, achieving a harmonious coexistence between architecture and the natural environment.

而南侧主入口的“基因塔”地标更是形式创新的点睛之笔——双子并立的建筑形态搭配中间交错上升的楼梯,模拟DNA双螺旋结构直观彰显生物医药产业基因;立面格栅以基因序列为设计灵感,通过错动排布形成动态视觉韵律,既满足南方建筑的遮阳需求,又让产业符号与建筑美学实现完美统一。
The “Gene Tower” landmark at the main south entrance is a striking example of innovative form—the twin-towered architectural forms, paired with a central staggered staircase, simulate the double helix structure of DNA, directly highlighting the genes of the biopharmaceutical industry. The facade grilles, inspired by gene sequences, create a dynamic visual rhythm through staggered arrangement, satisfying the shading needs of southern architecture while perfectly unifying industrial symbols with architectural aesthetics.

南侧入口“基因塔”在高容积率约束下,项目立面造型巧妙平衡场地限高、巨构体量与气候适应性三者关系,以模块化空间载体的规整性展现高效弹性,同时通过灵活错动的格栅纹理与立体绿化点缀,让产业园区的科研严谨性与生态活力形成鲜明而和谐的视觉表达,成为翠城道上极具辨识度的形象展示面。
Under the constraints of high plot ratio, the project’s facade design cleverly balances the relationship between site height restrictions, megastructure volume, and climate adaptability. It showcases high efficiency and flexibility through the regularity of modular space carriers, while the flexible and staggered grid textures and three-dimensional greening embellishments create a distinct and harmonious visual expression of the industrial park’s scientific research rigor and ecological vitality, making it a highly recognizable image on Cuicheng Road.

针对生物医药产业的特殊工艺要求与企业成长诉求,项目创新提出“微总部”与“药立方”两大空间策略,实现功能设计的精准化与前瞻性。
Addressing the unique process requirements and growth aspirations of the biopharmaceutical industry, the project innovatively proposes two spatial strategies: “Micro-Headquarters” and “Pharma Cube,” achieving precise and forward-looking functional design.

其中“微总部”策略彻底打破传统高层办公的压抑感,通过退台设计、空中花园嵌入及垂直交通核优化,创造出“一企一栋、层层有地”的独栋办公体验。这种设计既满足了中小企业对独立形象标识的需求,更通过每层专属户外空间增强员工归属感,解决了高密度开发与高品质体验的核心矛盾。

strategy completely breaks away from the oppressive feeling of traditional high-rise offices. Through terraced design, embedded sky gardens, and optimized vertical transportation, it creates a unique office experience of “one building per company, with space on every floor.” This design not only meets the needs of SMEs for independent brand identity but also enhances employee sense of belonging through dedicated outdoor spaces on each floor, resolving the core contradiction between high-density development and high-quality experience.

The “Pharma Cube”
“药立方”产业综合体则为生物医药研发提供量身定制的解决方案。设计将研发实验室垂直叠合,突破传统平面布局的空间限制,实验室单元可根据PCR检测、细胞培养、洁净区操作等不同工艺需求灵活组合。针对产业特殊性,空间参数进行精准匹配——层高4.5-5.1米适配各类实验设备安装,400-800kg/㎡的承重标准满足精密仪器放置需求,标准层专属管井、废液收集及废气处理系统的配置,更从根源保障研发环境的安全合规,实现产业功能与空间设计的无缝衔接。

Industrial complex provides a tailor-made solution for biopharmaceutical R&D. The design vertically stacks R&D laboratories, breaking through the spatial limitations of traditional floor plan layouts. Laboratory units can be flexibly combined according to different process requirements such as PCR testing, cell culture, and cleanroom operations. Addressing the specific needs of the industry, spatial parameters were precisely matched—a floor height of 4.5-5.1 meters accommodates the installation of various experimental equipment, a load-bearing standard of 400-800 kg/m² meets the requirements for placing precision instruments, and the configuration of dedicated pipe shafts, waste liquid collection, and exhaust gas treatment systems on standard floors ensures the safety and compliance of the R&D environment from the outset, achieving a seamless integration of industrial functions and spatial design.

项目在功能布局中更融入全周期成长理念,模块化街区设计让企业可根据规模扩张灵活调整空间布局,从初创孵化到总部运营的全生命周期需求均能得到适配。同时通过多层地表设计打造立体绿色体系,屋顶花园、平台绿洲、下沉庭院与地面景观轴相互贯通,总体绿化率达35%以上,在高密度产业空间中嵌入多功能户外交流场景,实现“研发办公+生态休闲”的功能复合。
The project also incorporates a full-cycle growth concept into its functional layout. The modular street design allows companies to flexibly adjust the spatial layout according to their expansion scale, adapting to the needs of the entire lifecycle from startup incubation to headquarters operation. Simultaneously, a multi-layered surface design creates a three-dimensional green system, with rooftop gardens, platform oases, sunken courtyards, and ground-level landscape axes interconnected, achieving an overall greening rate of over 35%. Multifunctional outdoor communication scenes are embedded within the high-density industrial space, realizing a functional integration of “R&D office + ecological leisure.”

III. Profound Impact: Dual Leadership of Industrial Empowerment and Sustainable Development
项目以建筑设计为载体,实现了产业、环境与社会的多维价值创造。在产业赋能方面,通过“总部+研发+孵化”的功能集成构建高附加值产业生态,已成为翠亨新区生物医药产业的聚合核心,吸引上下游企业集聚形成产业集群效应,助力大湾区生物医药产业的协同发展。“微总部”与“药立方”的创新模式更成为产业园区设计的标杆范式,为同类项目提供可复制的解决方案。
The project, using architectural design as a vehicle, achieves multi-dimensional value creation across industry, environment, and society. In terms of industrial empowerment, the integrated “headquarters + R&D + incubation” function constructs a high-value-added industrial ecosystem, becoming the core of the Cuiheng New Area’s biopharmaceutical industry, attracting upstream and downstream enterprises to form an industrial cluster effect, and contributing to the coordinated development of the Greater Bay Area’s biopharmaceutical industry. The innovative models of “micro-headquarters” and “pharmaceutical cubes” have become benchmarks for industrial park design, providing replicable solutions for similar projects.

可持续发展领域的实践彰显项目的长远价值。设计采用断冷桥节能窗、立体节水浇灌系统等低碳技术,结合空中绿化平台的生态调节作用,将低碳理念深度融入建筑细节,为园区双碳目标达成提供坚实支撑。立体绿化体系不仅提升空间品质,更通过植被固碳、降温增湿等作用改善区域微气候,实现建筑与环境的生态共生。
The project’s long-term value is highlighted by its practices in sustainable development. The design employs low-carbon technologies such as thermally broken energy-saving windows and a three-dimensional water-saving irrigation system, combined with the ecological regulation function of the rooftop greening platform, deeply integrating low-carbon concepts into architectural details, providing solid support for achieving the park’s dual-carbon goals. The three-dimensional greening system not only enhances spatial quality but also improves the regional microclimate through vegetation carbon sequestration, cooling, and humidification, achieving ecological symbiosis between architecture and the environment.

社会与经济影响层面,项目通过开放街区设计打破产业园区的封闭属性,骑楼商业街、中心广场等公共空间向城市开放,实现园区与城市的功能互补,为周边社区提供公共活动场景,提升区域整体活力。产业集群的形成带动就业岗位增加与人才集聚,推动区域经济结构优化升级。维思平“为产业筑空间、为城市赋能量”的设计理念在此得到充分践行,让项目成为见证产业、城市、环境共同成长的标杆载体。
In terms of social and economic impact, the project breaks down the closed nature of industrial parks through its open-street design. Public spaces such as arcade commercial streets and central squares are opened to the city, achieving functional complementarity between the park and the city, providing public activity venues for surrounding communities, and enhancing the overall vitality of the area. The formation of industrial clusters drives increased employment opportunities and talent aggregation, promoting the optimization and upgrading of the regional economic structure. VSP’s design philosophy of “building space for industry and empowering the city” is fully implemented here, making the project a benchmark for witnessing the common growth of industry, city, and environment.
