Exhibition Overview
瀫 [hú],水名,指衢江龙游段。2024年3月20日,「瀫石光·艺术生态走廊」在浙江龙游县小南海镇正式开幕,40组艺术与建筑装置集中亮相。龙游瀫畔:瀫石光·艺术生态走廊开幕回顾展不仅呈现了项目的过去、现在与未来畅想,也让展场成为新的社区公共空间。CABLE 与梓集 fabersociety 共同完成了主入口、序厅、宣言桥、‘行动派’作品集群及对话空间的展陈设计与落地。
“Hú” is an ancient river name specifically referring to the Longyou section of the Qu River. On March 20, 2024, “Hú Shí Guāng · ART ECO SITE” officially launched in Longyou County, Zhejiang Province, unveiling a curated collection of 40 art and architectural installations.The Hú Shí Guāng ART ECO SITE Inaugural Retrospective Exhibition not only encapsulates the project’s evolution—from its inception to future visions—but also reclaims the site as a vibrant community hub. CABLE and Fabersociety (梓集) collaboratively spearheaded the design and execution of the exhibition.

展览以“瀫”字为线索,回应城市化背景下的现实困境,从青年创作者的视角探索城乡的多样可能,并与自然大地展开对话。它串联起地缘生态、城市文脉与未来规划蓝图,构建出一张“艺术生态走廊”的全局地图,指引观众走向江边,在大地间与散落的艺术装置不期而遇。展览场地位于原木材厂的一组对称式建筑内。梓集 fabersociety 负责设计的展厅,采取‘轻介入’策略与可拆卸的模块化展陈系统,在尊重建筑原有肌理的同时,也希望营造出开放、灵活而富有层次的观展氛围。
Taking the character “Hú” as its narrative thread, the exhibition explores the diverse possibilities of urban-rural relations through the lens of young creators in dialogue with nature. It weaves together regional ecology, urban context, and future planning blueprints into a comprehensive map of the ART ECO SITE, guiding visitors toward the riverbank to encounter installations amidst the landscape. The exhibition is situated within a symmetrical building complex of a former timber mill. The retrospective exhibition designed by fabersociety employs a “light intervention” strategy and a demountable modular system. While respecting the original architectural fabric, the design creates an open, flexible, and layered exhibition atmosphere.

回顾展的北展区空间原为木材厂食堂,包含一个连贯的L型空间及加建的钢构空间,以敞亮的大空间为特征。
The North Wing occupies the former canteen space, characterized by a luminous, expansive interior comprising a continuous L-shaped hall and a later steel-structured addition.

厂房原有吊顶拆除后,原始结构梁柱完全显露。这些规整而粗粝的梁架界定了空间的空间骨架,并成为展陈布局与流线组织的逻辑线索。通长的L型空间,从主入口往内一览无余,对于有明确主题章节的展览不太理想,也缺少观展流线的节奏感。在现有的空间结构提示下,通长的大空间被划分为“序厅、宣言桥、行动派、对话空间”四个空间,并赋予其不同的特质。
After the removal of the old suspended ceilings, the original structural beams were exposed, creating a powerful and raw spatial language that served as the primary cue for our spatial reorganization. Initially, the elongated L-shaped space offered an unobstructed view from the main entrance to the far end. This lack of visual occlusion was less than ideal for an exhibition with distinct thematic chapters and lacked a sense of narrative rhythm. Guided by the existing structural cues, the expansive linear hall is divided into four distinct spaces—Lobby, Declaration Bridge, Action Oriented, and Conversation—each endowed with its own unique spatial characteristics.

由于木材厂已被列入未来建筑改造计划中,本次展陈施工不对现存厂房主体结构进行大的改动。所有展陈装置均采用可拆解重构或直接移动的模块单元,在短期的展览结束之后,可以继续回收使用。展览空间过去是以木材加工为生产内容的场所,木材的使用既提示场地记忆,也为沉寂的厂房空间带来明亮温暖的感受。展览由此启发、延续并推演了木材的各种表现形式,以此作为整个展陈视觉元素的贯穿焦点和精神回溯。
As the timber mill is slated for future architectural renovation, the exhibition construction avoids any major alterations to the existing primary structure. All exhibition installations are designed as modular units that can be disassembled, reconfigured, or relocated, ensuring they can be recycled and reused after the exhibition concludes. Formerly used for timber production, the space integrates wood as a primary material to evoke site memory, lending a bright and warm atmosphere to the dormant factory. The design explores, extends, and evolves various expressions of wood, positioning it as the central visual focus and a spiritual retrospective throughout the exhibition.

与木材自带的“旧物”气息不同,铝型材是纯工业化产品,其金属质感能给木材厂带来新的体验。工业化材料搭配半手工化材料,可实现快速多样化组合装配,可重复切割利用、低碳且造价低,可以很好的回应前置条件。
Unlike the innate ‘patina’ and warmth associated with aged wood, aluminum profiles—as purely industrial products—introduce a crisp, metallic texture that injects a new vitality into the timber mill. This pairing of industrial materials with semi-handcrafted elements allows for rapid, diverse assembly. This low-carbon, cost-effective system responds effectively to the project’s constraints through its capacity for repeated cutting and versatile reuse.

01“序厅”— 概况与前言
Lobby — Overview & Foreword
主入口设置了一个与衢江平行的灯箱装置,斜向嵌入展厅立面。它以“瀫”字的拆解为灵感,是展览主题和在地性的起点,同时也引导了前厅的流线。三面木构架展墙围合出稳定的场域作为序厅,详述瀫石光创造季的来龙去脉,总领本次展览。
At the main entrance, a light box installation is diagonally embedded into the gallery facade, positioned parallel to the Qu River. Inspired by the deconstruction of the character “Hú,” this installation serves as the conceptual starting point for the exhibition’s theme and regionality, while simultaneously guiding the circulation into the foyer. Three timber-framed exhibition walls enclose a stable field to form the Lobby. This space provides a comprehensive account of the origins and development of the Hú Shí Guāng · ART ECO SITE and serves as a formal introduction to the entire exhibition.

瀫水在龙游乡村与城区之间川流而过,瀫石光创造季主展区与新城区隔江而望。宣言桥承载着持续的在地发声,象征着所有人的协作与共创,搭建起一座从理想通往现实的美好桥梁,同时引导参观者过桥,进入“行动派”的作品集群。
The Hú river meanders between Longyou’s countryside and its urban fabric; the primary exhibition area stands across the river from the newly developed area. The Declaration Bridge serves as a vessel for continuous local voices, symbolizing collaboration and co-creation among all participants. It acts as a poetic link between idealism and reality, while guiding visitors across the bridge to enter the “Action Oriented” work cluster.

03“行动派空间”— 青年与作品
Action Oriented — Youth & Works
行动派展厅从一组灯箱和作品点位索引装置为开始,漂浮的微缩模型总览创作者的作品点位和场地信息。主要展架则设计一种从人视点角度最便于观看的展架系统,利用海洋板和铝型材为主要材料,通过不同视角的调整组合,将各个作品点位的展示内容做最适应观看的完整呈现。
The Action Oriented begins with a series of light boxes and an index installation, where floating miniature models provide an overview of the creators’ project locations and site information. The primary display system is designed with a focus on optimal human-scale viewing. Utilizing marine plywood and aluminum profiles as the primary materials, the modular units are adjusted and combined from various perspectives to present the content of each site in its most accessible and complete form.

设计没有全部占据整个建筑原始层高,而是通过模块的复制和排列组合形成视觉张力,并延续观看的动线,同时通过模块尺寸与原厂房模数的回应对话,让主体建筑原有的空间特色充分保留并强化放大。这也是整个展览的核心空间。
Instead of occupying the entire height of the original space, the design creates visual tension through the repetition and permutation of modules. This strategy maintains a continuous narrative flow while establishing a dialogue between the modular dimensions and the original factory grid, ensuring that the architectural character of the host building is fully preserved and amplified. This zone serves as the core spatial experience of the entire exhibition.

04 对话空间—古今文与书
Conversation — Ancient & Modern Bibliographies
展览的对话空间设置了一张高度略低的大圆桌,模糊掉桌和椅的关系,以此作为观展的互动体验场所。以圆桌为圆心,在地面辐射出瀫石光的主题标识至各个展厅,将看似分离的展厅用统一的视觉语言串联。
The Conversation area features a low-profile circular table that blurs the traditional relationship between table and seating, serving as an interactive site for visitors. Using the table as a focal point, the thematic branding of Hú Shí Guāng radiates across the floor toward the various galleries, unifying the seemingly disparate spaces through a consistent visual language.

大圆桌及周围小圆桌呈现了青年研究者们在介入瀫石光项目期间借鉴参考的书目文献。观展人可以在大圆桌上阅读、休憩,并自由涂写留言和祝语,描绘对龙游未来的想象图景。同样,大圆桌可以拆解,释放空间呈现灵活的活动场地,整合吧台部分作为对话空间的接待和活动预留区域。
Both the large central table and the surrounding smaller modules display a collection of bibliographies and documents referenced by the young researchers during their intervention in the Hú Shí Guāng project. Visitors are encouraged to read, rest, and freely leave notes or wishes on the table, collectively sketching visions for the future of Longyou. Furthermore, the large table can be disassembled to release the floor area for flexible events, while the integrated bar section serves as a reception and staging area for the Conversation.

模块单元
Modular Units
为了快速建造及达到可重复利用的原则,各个展厅以铝型材、海洋板、原木方、阳光板等作为基础材料,搭建起轻固定可复制的展架模组和装置。
To ensure rapid construction and adhere to the principles of reusability, each gallery utilizes a foundational palette of aluminum profiles, marine plywood, solid timber beams, and polycarbonate panels. These materials are assembled into lightweight, adaptable, and replicable display modules and installations.

通过对材料模数关系的推敲,设计将复杂的装置转化为可复制的单元逻辑。标准化的铝型材、海洋板、阳光板不仅支撑起多样化的展陈需求,更以轻盈、通透的姿态介入旧有厂房。规整的模数节奏不仅承载着展览内容,也顺势引导着观展流线,使简单的技术构件成为富有呼吸感的空间元素。
By refining the modular relationships of materials, complex installations are translated into a replicable logic of units. Standardized aluminum profiles, marine plywood, and polycarbonate panels meet diverse exhibition needs while intervening in the former mill with lightness and translucency. This structural rhythm carries the exhibition content and naturally guides visitor circulation, turning technical components into spatial elements that breathe.
