Text description provided by the architects. The expansion project of CPP College arises from the need to adapt the school space to new usage demands, respecting the identity of the original architectural ensemble, which was also designed by our office. The main question was to understand how to intervene in an already established architecture, adding value without compromising the existing language and harmony.
The new building was conceived as a functional and rational response to the school's requirements, aiming to meet daily needs with spatial efficiency and flexibility. The challenge was to incorporate an architectural language that engages with the original design, while keeping in mind current transformations in terms of technology, materials, and the use of educational space. Thus, the expansion not only respects the initial principles of the work but also introduces new approaches that enrich the experience of the school environment.
One of the fundamental aspects of the proposal was the choice of a lightweight, economical, and quickly executed construction system. The project was planned to be completed in one month, minimizing interference with the school routine and ensuring a swift implementation. The use of industrialized materials and modular solutions allowed for efficient, sustainable construction aligned with the institution's budgetary constraints.
In the end, the result is an expansion that integrates organically with the ensemble, reaffirming the spatial, aesthetic, and pedagogical values that guided the original project, while also adapting to contemporary demands for functionality and resource optimization.
