In New Farm, Brisbane, Haven Hair offers a refined take on the contemporary salon experience. Designed by Samantha Leigh Interiors, this space balances quiet glamour with warmth—and it does so beautifully.
The interior unfolds as a sequential journey. Upon entry, a sophisticated lounge area sets the tone, anchored by a brass reception desk, bevelled mirror tiles, and a vintage glass chandelier overhead. It’s an elegant welcome that signals something considered lies ahead.
Moving deeper into the salon, custom joinery finished in high-gloss lacquer with forged bronze hardware introduces a sense of classicism without feeling heavy-handed. The modulation of ambient lighting creates a spa-like rhythm, highlighting intimate treatment alcoves and providing welcome moments of pause.
One standout is the private wash area — wrapped in deep green and softly lit with brass wall lights by Studio Henry Wilson. This darker, more immersive space offers a sensory shift from the main salon, functioning as a quiet cocoon where clients can truly decompress.
The design brief called for an elevated expression of Haven Hair’s brand as the business moved into a new suburb and stage of growth. The space needed to feel luxurious while retaining personality, approachability, and warmth. That sensibility guided the balance of softness and structure, allowing the interior to feel both polished and personal.
A thoughtful curation of noble materials—terrazzo, aged brass, Italian glass, and gossamer curtains—reinforces the sense of understated luxury. Artwork is used as visual storytelling, adding sculptural interest while supporting the brand’s identity.
Every detail invites clients to slow down and carve out time for themselves, offering an experience that feels calm, intentional, and quietly confident.
