All Day Dining
The design of the All Day Dining area draws inspiration from the traditional "bện dây" technique, a craft of weaving rattan ropes once used to bind fish sauce barrels in coastal Vietnam.
Each rope is soaked in water and left under the night dew to enhance flexibility and prevent brittleness. The ends are then twisted, cross-braided, and secured with knots in the “dragon eye” or “phoenix eye” pattern, ensuring even tension and a tight seal, symbolizing strength and unity.
At the restaurant entrance, this technique is reinterpreted as woven panels that define and divide the space. The crafted textures evoke a sense of reclamation and cultivation, an homage to the artisanal spirit and enduring resilience of Vietnamese coastal culture.
Riding around the island, a few wooden structures still remain, showcasing a unique wood-carving technique. From the inside, sunlight filters through the carved openings, casting intricate shadows and revealing traditional patterns that reflect the island’s heritage.
Combine with ignature cultivation products of the island.
Laquer of 2 symbolics: Fish sauce & Red peppercorn.A 1:1 size of the fish sauce barrel as a displace for the semi-outdoor dining area.
As one enters deeper into the restaurant, peppercorn motifs are positioned right in the center of the seating area. At the buffet counter, the image of traditional fish sauce barrels appears once again.
The purpose of this space is to leave a lasting impression on visitors — to spark their curiosity and excitement,..
...encouraging them to leave the resort and explore the island’s craft villages, to hear the stories and learn directly from the local people.
Walking few step down the hill, will be the Multi-purpose workshop area.
Different workshops will be hosted in this area by local craftsmen, such as making grasshoppers from coconut leaves.
or making "Bánh Khọt", a local "Vietnamese Mini Coconut Rice Pancakes".
Thank you for taking the tour!
