Located in a residential area of Kyiv, "Meva Spot" is a new fast-food establishment distinguished by its natural interior. "Meva" translates to "seagull" in Ukrainian. The clients aimed to create an atypical space, just like their future menu, using modern elements and materials that provide a wow effect, going beyond the standards of traditional fast-food venues and immersing visitors in the atmosphere of a seaside.
The designers drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the seaside. They aimed to recreate the feeling of the beach, cliffs, sea, and waves in the interior space. Every detail was carefully selected to convey the sensation of a breeze, stones in the sand underfoot, and the tranquility of a summer day on the shore.
The concept of the establishment was inspired by its name and the goal of fast service. The team aimed to convey the natural forms of the beach, the dynamism of the waves, and create a unique experience for visitors. To emphasize the speed of food preparation and simplify consumption, designers moved away from classic furniture, focusing on a podium that mimics the shapes of sand cliffs.
The podium serves as a place for waiting for orders, eating, and with its multiple levels, it allows both individual visitors and groups to comfortably sit. This solution helps optimize the limited space, making it multifunctional and comfortable for visitors. Orders are received through a specially equipped pickup window or at the bar, ensuring quick and convenient service.
The space is enveloped in a warm sandy color, with metal details conveying a sense of sea breeze and coolness. Glassblocks were used for the bar’s decor; designers chose them for their ability to create a shimmering effect on the wall, reminiscent of water. Microcement creates a smooth, seamless surface, giving the space a feeling of being on a beach. The shine of the uneven metal ceiling reflects light, reminiscent of sunlight on the water’s surface, which visitors gaze at while waiting for their orders. The corrosion and temperature resistance of stainless steel, akin to the strength of a ship’s hull, ensures durability and reliability.
The main element that visitors interact with is the sand bench. It is crafted using a combination of large and small stones to create a sense of waves and wind smoothing the form, as if revealing layers of sand. Scattered stones on the floor in shades of seawater, wooden surfaces, wavy shapes, greenery, linen rugs mimicking seaweed, and a ceiling fan complement the space with details.

The metal shelves and cabinet were crafted by local artisans according to the designers’ sketches, maintaining the natural texture of polished metal, which further enhances the effect of imperfectly smooth, natural surfaces.
The lighting is almost concealed from the visitors’ eyes, providing functionality and scenographic illumination, creating both atmospheric and functional lighting. This thoughtful design not only creates a welcoming ambiance but also ensures practicality without drawing attention to the fixtures themselves.
This project would not have been possible without the dedication of our creative team, whose innovative ideas shaped every detail. We are also deeply grateful to our amazing clients for their trust and collaboration throughout the process.
