Stryiskyi Park is an idyllic place of people and nature, a place of escape for many Lviv residents who rush here from the noisy downtown with their loved ones. One of the paths to this oasis lies through Parkova Street, where among greenery and flowers, we find an Art Nouveau building designed in 1898 by architect Karel Boublik. Throughout history, the building has changed, and the apartments have been re-planned, but the ceiling has kept its respectable height of more than three and a half meters.

The apartment’s owners are a family with two children and a beloved dog, Noit. The main goal was to organize the space so that everyone was comfortable, could find a place of their own, and could spend time with loved ones. The family often welcomes guests, so it was necessary to provide a gathering place, a large folding table, and space for storing supplies for more immense parties.

In this apartment, we created only the things that we had to: kitchen facades covered with tinted birch veneer and new oak parquet, preserving the authentic character of the room. For practicality and durability, a quartz coating was used in the bathrooms and on the kitchen tiles, which harmoniously fit into the overall composition of this home.

We found the dining chairs in Denmark, so they traveled from there, and the dining table arrived from Germany. Every piece of furniture has its character, and they unquestionably come along.

At Parkova, we preserved massive wooden doors with brass handles; they only needed to be cleaned, and now they shine as new.

To complement the brass details, I resorted to my favorite OLX searches, and this time, I hunted down a whole set of furniture handles preserved in good condition. I also found a carved mirror for the bathroom and a goose hanger for a kitchen towel.​​​​​​​

Due to the need to replace plumbing pipes, repairs were planned for only part of the apartment — the corridor, kitchen, and bathroom. To implement the owners’ request, we partially re-planned these rooms and also changed the location of the entrance to the bathroom. We also made it possible to place a wardrobe for outerwear and necessary things next to the entrance to the apartment.
