Honchara apartment
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine
Area: 367 sq.m.
Team: Alexey Gulesha, Sergey Molchanov
Year: 2024
The apartment is located in the central part of Kyiv, in a historic building, occupying an entire floor. The client has a passion for art, loves natural materials, and values the city’s history.
We wanted to create a unique space without overwhelming it with unnecessary decor. Every element was selected to evoke new shades of emotion in the interior while remaining as functional as possible.
In every room of the apartment, we incorporated pieces of lighting, engineering, or design art.For instance, the lighting in the main areas goes beyond technical functionality. The Viabizzuno chandelier in the bedroom seems to envelop the bed, sensually curving above it and casting soft reflections throughout the room.
The crystal chandeliers by Ingo Maurer in the living room do not emit light themselves but instead reflect the light of fixtures hidden behind stage-like ledges. This creates a dramatic atmosphere that invites you to wander the space in a beautiful dress, with bare feet sinking into the lush Minotti shag rug.
Most of the floors are covered with dark, almost black parquet. We aimed to highlight the contrast between the chocolate tones of the rough wood and the light blue hues of the marble and rugs. This combination of the strict and the delicate resonates deeply with the character of the apartment’s owner.
The study and walk-in closet serve as private spaces for storing her most cherished clothing and jewelry.
The guest bedroom is located in the farthest part of the apartment, ensuring maximum isolation from the other rooms.
The children’s rooms are designed to allow wall painting and unrestricted creativity.
