One client, one house, one contractor, one design team and the same time the implementation of two apartments. Two projects literally became one big project for us.
Akropol 1
It's too black, too dark, it's an office, it's uncomfortable - we read in the comments to the publication of this interior. And few people knew that the client himself wanted to make the apartment black because he loves this color. Although we, as designers, like it, because such an apartment will look more brutal and impressivelook.
This apartment is a home for a couple who spend all their time at work and hardly cook. So we had tohad to persuade the client to leave a full kitchen. Because a black apartment without a kitchen would definitely not give us peace of mind from commentators.
Even in a small apartment, we found a place for the client's office. It is extremely important to makeventilation so that you can feel comfortable inside without a window. And here again, we went against the majority opinion, because we made a small office instead of another wardrobe.
At such moments, you can feel the pressure of society, but it is important to calmly continue to convey thatit is a conscious choice of both the client and the designer, who saw other options but chose the one that makes their life more comfortable and happy.
All coatings are either paint, tiles, or microcement, just simple textures and shapes. As long as wecontinue to live in such an information-saturated world, minimalism in the interior is an opportunity toto relax.
Akropol 2
The second apartment was for a young couple. From the first days of designing it became clear that the client was not afraid of minimalism, not afraid of blank walls and complex textures and materials.
The interior image was partly influenced by the Dune or Star Wars saga. Not literally, as if it were a room for a teenager, but as an image of a mysterious desert. The red desert, the sun, the blackness of space, the sand pleasant to the touch, all this symbolically found solutions in the interior.
This was one of the most difficult layouts for us, as we received a huge number of ventilation ducts and columns from the developer. But the client still got a layout where he experiences comfort as if he lived in his own private home.
The brutal bathroom further emphasizes the overall idea.
In an era when interiors today do not have a huge amount of decoration on the wall and even wallpaper is rarely used, the attention is shifted to details and other ideas or decorations. The metal shelf seems to float, as it has a complex profile and is supported on one side by metal cables.
The kitchen and table are made of two materials, but perfectly matched to each other in color. The table top is made of tiles and all the furniture fronts are made of microcement. In this way we have a solid exterior piece, but very practical from scratches.
The kitchen can be opened either by a motion sensor or a remote control. And in normal times it can look like a brutal monolithic wall.
