In the small village of Cologny, nestled among the green hills near Lake Geneva, stands a villa that has been given new life through a renovation by Bogdanova Architects. This home is about brutal elegance - the power of architecture, the calm of materials, and the subtle emotional depth of its atmosphere.

У містечку Колоні, серед зелених пагорбів біля Женевського озера, розташована вілла, що отримала нове життя після реновації від Bogdanova Architects. Цей дім - про brutal elegance: силу архітектури, спокій матеріалів і стриману емоційність середовища.

Between two portals in the living room, an art wall was created - clad in leather lamination with wooden framing. Enhanced with dedicated lighting, it serves as a backdrop prepared for a future art collection, yet already stands as a complete installation.

Asculpture by Nazar Bilyk, placed on a pedestal by the window and illuminated by a focused ceiling light, adds an element of intellectual depth and artistic presence to the space.

У вітальні між двома порталами створено арт-сіну, оздоблена шкіряною ламінацією з дерев’яним обрамленням. Стіна підсвічуєтся спеціальним освітленням і підготовлена для майбутньої колекції, але вже виглядають як заверша інсталяція. На п’єдесталі біля вікна розташована скульптура Назара Білика, освітлена окремим світловим акцентом зі стелі - деталь, що додає простору інтелектуальної глибини.

The centerpiece of the interior is Cipollino marble - an emotional, dynamic, and slightly dramatic material that reflects the personality of the homeowner. Its vivid texture runs as a continuous motif throughout the house, creating a harmonious contrast with the calm taupe and grey color palette. In the entrance hall, two large marble slabs on the floor establish a monumental first impression. In the living room, Cipollino clads the fireplace block, visually separating the lounge area from the dining space. The same marble is used for the kitchen island and worktop, as well as in the bathrooms on the ground floor, ensuring material consistency and a refined visual rhythm across the interior.

Головним акцентом інтер’єру став мармур Cipollino - емоційний, динамічний, навіть трохи агресивний матеріал, що відображає характер власника. Його активна текстура проходить наскрізним мотивом через увесь дім, гармонійно контрастуючи зі спокійною коричнево - сірою палітрою. У холі два великі сляби на підлозі створюють монументальний вступний акцент. У вітальні Cipollino облицьовує камінний блок, який відділяє зону відпочинку від їдальні. На кухні в цьому ж матеріалі виконані острів та робоча поверхня, також цей матеріал імплементований у санвузлах першого поверху.

One of the main challenges was to seamlessly integrate the furniture from the owners’ previous residence. All pieces are by Roche Bobois, a brand renowned for its sculptural design, so many of the new interior compositions were thoughtfully built around them.

In the living room - the BUBBLE sofa, LONG ISLAND seating group, and LIFT DAQUACRYL bar cabinet set the tone.

Одним із викликів стало гармонійно інтегрувати меблі з попереднього житла. Усі вони - бренду Roche Bobois, відомого своїм скульптурним дизайном, тому частину композицій вибудовувалась саме навколо них.

У вітальні — диван BUBBLE, група LONG ISLAND і буфет-бар LIFT DAQUACRYL.

The first floor is the heart of the house. A spacious living room with a fireplace flows into a second, more intimate lounge area with a TV, while on the opposite side lies the dining room. The kitchen masterfully combines aesthetics with functionality. At its center, a marble island serves as a gathering spot for informal conversations, while the technical area is discreetly hidden behind sliding doors - maintaining a sense of cleanliness and order throughout the space.

Перший поверх - серце дому. Простора вітальня з каміном переходить у другу, більш камерну зону відпочинку з телевізором, з іншого боку - їдальня. Кухня поєднує в собі естетику та функціональністю. В центрі кухні мармуровий острів став місцем для неформального спілкування, а технічна частина кухні прихована за розсувними дверима, що підтримує чистоту й впорядкованість.

The project embodies the philosophy of sustainable luxury— a form of conscious elegance built on naturalness, longevity, and authenticity.

The second floor is entirely dedicated to the master suite. The dressing area and bathroom are united beneath a skylight, filling the space with soft, natural light. The wardrobe system by Molteni was custom-designed to reflect the client’s daily routine - every detail thoughtfully considered, from the number of shoes to the placement of accessories.______

Другий поверх повністю відведений під мастер спальню. Простір гардеробної та санвузла об’єднано під верхнім світловим ліхтарем, який наповнює кімнату природним світлом. Гардеробна система — від бренду Molteni, розроблена з урахуванням щоденної рутини клієнта: все детально продумано - від кількості пар взуття до розміщення аксесуарів.

For this level, a sereneCarrara marblewas chosen — an elegant backdrop and a key architectural element that gently emphasizes the fluidity of the space.It appears in the bathroom and dressing block, the shower shelf, the fireplace frame in the bedroom, and the shelving in the study.

Для цього рівня обрали спокійний мармур — Carrara. Він став елегантним фоном і формотворчим елементом, який м’яко підкреслює пластику простору. З нього виконані: блок у гардеробній-санвузлі, полиця в душовій, обрамлення каміну в спальні та полиця у кабінеті.

Previously two separate rooms: a bathroom and a wardrobe, they have now been reimagined as a single, sculptural volume defined by a marble composition: a vanity on one side and a large mirror facing the wardrobe on the other. In the wet zone, the bathtub was replaced with a spacious walk-in shower, enhancing the sense of openness and calm.

Раніше цей простір складалося з двох окремих приміщень: санвузла і гардеробної. Тепер вони утворюють єдиний об’єм, зонований скульптурною композицією з мармуру: з одного боку - умивальник, з іншого - велике дзеркало, орієнтоване у гардеробну. У «мокрій» зоні замість ванни облаштовано простору душову.

The adjoining study features a complex geometry - a circular layout with a diagonal cut. The client’s MORPHOS desk fits seamlessly into the plan, while built-in storage lines the angled wall. A marble shelf running along its length emphasizes the horizontal rhythm of the interior, tying the composition together with quiet sophistication.

Кабінет складної геометрії - коло зі зрізом по діагоналі. Стіл клієнта MORPHOS ідеально вписався у планування. Вздовж скошеної стіни розміщено вбудовані системи зберігання, над якими проходить мармурова полиця, що підкреслює горизонтальність ліній інтер’єру.

Thelower ground floorbrings together the leisure and wellness areas — a gym, aSPA zone with a sauna, awine room, aguest suite, and several technical spaces. Нульовий поверх об’єднує зони дозвілля та релаксу: спортивну залу, SPA-зону з сауною, винну кімнату, гостьовий блок і технічні приміщення.

From this level, there is direct access to theterrace with a swimming pool, creating a seamless connection between the interior and the landscape. It is a space of balance — between energy and calm — continuing the home’s philosophy of living in harmony with nature.

Цей поверх маєпрямий вихід на терасу з басейном, що створює безперервний зв’язок між інтер’єром і ландшафтом. Це простір рівновагиміж енергією і спокоєм,що продовжує філософію будинку про життя в гармонії з природою.

The villa’s engineering systems were completely modernized. The underfloor heating system was replaced with an integrated network that provides both heating and cooling. Since air conditioning is prohibited in the Canton of Geneva, the cooling floor system ensures a comfortable indoor climate during the warmer months.

Allelectrical, heating, and plumbing systems were renewed, incorporating state-of-the-art, energy-efficient solutions that align with contemporary sustainability standards.

Інженерні системи будинку оновлено повністю. Замінили систему «тепла підлога», інтегрувавши контури для нагріву й охолодження. У кантоні Женева заборонено кондиціонери, тому система холодної підлоги забезпечує комфорт у спекотний період. Оновлено електромережі, опалення та водопостачання - усе з урахуванням сучасних, енергоефективних рішеннях.
