SKY ROMA:  A Rooftop Block Creative Space Design Project

SKY ROMA is a rooftop block creative space design project. It adopts the Italian streetscape design most familiar to Wenzhou people to pay tribute to Wenzhou people who work hard around the world.

The Great Beauty

The film uses Roman architecture as its canvas, intertwining the intricate carvings of Baroque churches, the mottled textures of ancient alley stone walls, and the expansive views of modern terraces. If integrated with the Sunset Theater element, its architectural imagery is just like the Italian colonnades of a theater — it not only carries the profound historical weight of Rome spanning thousands of years but also unfolds as a "light and shadow stage" in the twilight like a theater. As the protagonist wanders among the buildings, he seems to be in a Sunset Theater, and in the dialogue between the dome and the setting sun, one can not only see the aesthetic tension of the architecture but also understand Rome’s prosperity and desolation through the architectural textures.

It has an in-depth connection with Italian culture in terms of architectural forms and cultural symbols. The circular theaters, Roman colonnades, red brick elements, etc., in the design drawings draw on the architectural language of ancient Roman theaters in Italy. It integrates the thousand-year-old dramatic architectural culture and historical heritage of Italy into modern space design, serving as a contemporary interpretation of ancient Italian theater culture.

Consumers can experience an immersive Italian cultural scene here: on the one hand, they can directly feel the spatial aesthetics and historical atmosphere of ancient Italian theaters through the replicated architectural forms of Roman theaters; on the other hand, similar to the functions of ancient Italian theaters that once hosted dramas and celebrations, this space can hold drama performances, art exhibitions and other events, allowing consumers to experience the artistic vitality and social attributes of Italian culture in a modern setting.

Letters to Juliet

The film is based on the classical architecture of Verona. The stone walls and arches of Juliet’s former residence are consistent with the "suspended ecology" concept of the Sky Green Path. The ancient city trails where the characters stroll in the film connect architecture and nature just like the Sky Green Path. The greenery-clad walls and transparent viewing corridors replicate the characteristic of the Sky Green Path that "architecture integrates into nature".

Architecture is no longer just a backdrop but a carrier of emotions — just as the Sky Green Path extends the view through trails, the film conveys the transcendence and continuation of love through architectural textures, making every brick, stone and green plant part of the romantic narrative.

Rose Island

The circular space and open layout of the artificial island in the film implicitly match the attribute of the Wishing Square as a place to carry wishes. The core structure in the center of the island, like the fountain in the Wishing Square, becomes an ideal "spiritual landmark". People gather here to unite their free will, just like the ritual of tourists tossing coins to make wishes in the square.

The building outlines its shape with lightweight steel frames; although it lacks the intricacy of Baroque sculptures, it connects the resistance to rules and the expectation for ideals just like the three-forked moving lines of the Wishing Square, making this "floating wishing place" a symbol of the symbiosis of architecture and faith.

Arcade Plaza

The small arch plaza in Arcade Plaza is the core node of the spatial vitality of "Splendid Highland". It takes the Italian-style red brick arches as the visual focus, and the red brick material forms a unified texture echo with the building facade;

the arc shape of the arches creates a sense of enclosure, becoming a natural place for people to gather and interact socially.

The plaza pavement continues the red brick color tone, paired with green plant landscapes and leisure facilities, which not only strengthens the scene atmosphere of British style but also provides citizens and tourists with a vibrant space for "wandering and resting under the red brick arches", achieving a perfect integration of historical texture and contemporary social needs.

Warmth Street

Warmth Street focuses on "creating a sense of community belonging with the aroma of corner coffee and sunlit benches". It constructs a commercial community space full of humanistic warmth through the red brick-textured street-facing interface, the street-front layout of diverse business formats, and the resting benches bathed in sunlight.

The red brick building facade conveys a warm texture, and coffee shops and leisure stores form a life-oriented street-facing interface;

the trail benches where afternoon sunlight pours down provide a place for residents to socialize and rest, allowing the aroma of corner coffee to interweave with leisure scenes and creating a life-style commercial block with a strong sense of community and belonging.

Tipsy Garden

Tipsy Garden focuses on creating an international fashion lifestyle for high-end commercial food and wine streets, with the resting scene under canopies as the core highlight, building an urban consumption space with both trendy texture and comfortable experience.

It adopts transparent canopies to construct semi-open resting areas; the combination of metal frames and modern materials conveys an international fashion sense, and the wooden long tables and leisure seats under the canopies provide a comfortable social and resting space for diners and consumers;

the surrounding buildings adopt a simple and modern facade design with exquisite shop signs, meeting the style needs of high-end food and wine business formats, and the interspersion of red brick elements injects a touch of retro and exquisite layers into the fashion sense.

The overall space deeply integrates fashion consumption with a comfortable life through the scene creation of canopy resting areas and the international architectural facade design, making it an international trend landmark for urban people to enjoy food and wine and socialize and rest, fully showing the fashion taste and humanistic temperature of high-end commercial blocks.
