最近,MIST工作室完成了DOONA在武商梦时代的38㎡小店项目。说实话,这是我们首次尝试如此小型的餐饮空间设计,项目启动前,一个核心问题始终萦绕心头:对于这样的迷你小店,其最核心的需求究竟是什么。
Recently, MIST Studio completed the 38㎡ small store project for DOONA at WS Dream Plaza. To be honest, this was our first attempt at designing such a compact catering space. Before the project kicked off, a core question lingered in our minds: What is the most essential demand for such a mini store

在大型餐饮项目中,舒适的休憩氛围与社交属性往往是设计的重中之重。但面对这个仅 38㎡的空间,过往众多零售店的设计经验不断在我脑海中浮现 —— 我们意识到,餐饮小店的核心逻辑应当转向 「零售感」。受限于面积,宽敞的座位区无从谈起,舒适与社交的需求自然失去了承载空间,在这里,「效率优先」 才是破局的关键。
​In large-scale catering projects, a comfortable resting atmosphere and social attributes are often the top priorities of the design. However, when faced with this mere 38㎡ space, the extensive design experience from numerous retail stores kept surfacing in my mind — we realized that the core logic of small catering stores should shift toward a retail-oriented vibe. Constrained by the area, a spacious seating area was out of the question, and naturally, there was no room to accommodate the needs for comfort and social interaction. Here, efficiency first was the key to breaking through the dilemma.

而所谓的 「零售感」,本质上是用最高效的方式,让产品的核心价值直接触达消费者。首先,空间设计需要化繁为简,主动退居 「配角」,以简约纯粹的基底作绿叶,让产品本身成为视觉焦点;其次,考虑到DOONA产品尺寸相对统一,我们通过不同高度的陈列架进行组合,既最大化利用了垂直空间,也让产品陈列更具层次与呼吸感。
The so-called retail-oriented vibe essentially means enabling the core value of products to reach consumers in the most efficient way. First of all, the space design needs to be simplified, taking the initiative to step back as a supporting role. With a simple and pure base as the backdrop, the products themselves become the visual focus. Secondly, considering the relatively uniform size of DOONA’s products, we combined display shelves of different heights. This not only maximized the use of vertical space but also gave the product display a greater sense of hierarchy and breathing room.

一直以来,DOONA凭借鲜明的可爱形象深受当地人喜爱。但这次设计中,我们并未将这份「可爱”」过度延伸至空间,而是仅在 VI 形象中予以保留。在空间表达上,我们更侧重传递 「品质感」—— 希望当 DOONA 的食物摆上货架时,能让消费者直观感受到一种 「看起来很贵」 的感觉,即便产品本身定价亲民,这种视觉上的「品质感」也能为品牌增添溢价感。
DOONA has long been beloved by locals for its distinctive cute image. But in this design, we did not overextend this "cuteness" to the space; instead, we only retained it in the VI (Visual Identity) system. In terms of spatial expression, we focused more on conveying a sense of quality — we hoped that when DOONA’s food is placed on the shelves, consumers can directly perceive a "premium-looking" feel. Even though the products themselves are affordably priced, this visual sense of quality can add a premium perception to the brand.

材质与灯光的选择同样围绕这一核心:我们大量运用大地色系的自然材质,搭配暖调灯光,既营造出温润治愈的氛围,也让食物的色泽更具吸引力;同时,我们预留了充足的周边产品货架,当印着小煤球图案的周边盒子整齐陈列其上时,与空间风格浑然天成,每一处搭配都显得自然和谐。
The selection of materials and lighting also revolved around this core. We extensively used earth-toned natural materials paired with warm-toned lighting, which not only created a gentle and healing atmosphere but also made the color of the food more appealing. Meanwhile, we reserved ample shelf space for peripheral products. When the peripheral boxes printed with little coal ball patterns are neatly displayed on them, they blend seamlessly with the spatial style, and every coordination looks natural and harmonious.

最终,这个38㎡的小店没有被面积所束缚,反而在 「亲切力」 与 「品质感」 的平衡中,找到了属于 DOONA 的独特表达 —— 它不仅是一个售卖食物的空间,更像是一个浓缩了品牌气质的展示窗口,让消费者在快速驻足、挑选的过程中,既能高效获取所需,也能直观感受到 DOONA 的品质与温度。而这种 「小而精」 的设计逻辑,也为我们后续的小型空间项目,提供了一份值得借鉴的实践样本。
In the end, this 38㎡ store was not constrained by its size. Instead, by balancing approachability and quality, it found a unique expression belonging to DOONA. It is not just a space for selling food, but more like a condensed showcase of the brand’s temperament. In the process of stopping by and selecting items quickly, consumers can not only obtain what they need efficiently but also directly feel the quality and warmth of DOONA. Moreover, this "small yet refined" design logic has provided a valuable practical model for our subsequent small-space projects.
