ABOUT
A two-room apartment with an area of 72 m² is located in Lviv. The owners are a young couple working in the fields of programming and psychology. The primary request for the apartment's style was to create a unique interior unlike any other. Before starting the project, we were inspired by the eclectic style and decided to adhere to it throughout the design process.
The layout provided by the developer was quite interesting, but according to the clients' request, it was necessary to enlarge the bathroom and create a space for a wardrobe. We moved the bedroom entrance from the hallway to the living room, which allowed us to maximize the usable area.
Additionally, it was essential for the clients to organize two separate workspaces in the apartment, ensuring that both could work comfortably and independently.
As we mentioned in our other projects, corner apartments are probably the best in terms of layout, the number of windows, and natural light.
At the entrance, the floor is adorned with ceramic tiles from the Tom Dixon factory. The walls are covered with wallpaper, while massive high classical doors serve as an accent, harmonizing perfectly with veneered cabinets in the background. The highlight of this hallway is the entrance to the children’s room/study, as the door is cleverly disguised as part of the cabinet facade.
Next, we enter a relatively spacious kitchen-living room. The main accents in this area are the dining table with a pendant light above it and a blue sofa. The kitchen is linear and highly functional. The backsplash is made of mosaic, the hood is an unconventional golden color, and the furniture fronts are divided into two functional zones: the technical zone with veneered finishes and the work zone in blue.
The client is a passionate book lover with an impressive library. For her, we designed a large bookcase, part of which serves as a hidden entrance to the bedroom — the one we relocated to make room for the wardrobe. To the right of the bookcase, opposite the window, is the client’s workspace.
The bedroom was designed to be cozy yet unique, which led us to create a bed with an extraordinary rounded headboard. Accents include a vibrant red radiator, heavy, massive curtains on a metal rod, and a circular cutout in the gypsum ceiling, with a stylish chandelier as the centerpiece of the composition.
Next to the bed is the entrance to the wardrobe, made of a metal frame and fluted glass. However, closer to the realization, we plan to replace the structure with a wooden one. Opposite the bed, there is a beautiful wooden dresser that adds a touch of charm to the bedroom.
Let’s return to the entrance area, as we forgot about two rooms — the bathroom and the children’s room/study.
Bathroom
The bathroom was enlarged to accommodate a spacious wall-mounted bathtub with a shower area above it. The walls and floor are finished with a combination of natural marble, mosaic, and ceramic tiles, creating an elegant and cozy atmosphere. A bold accent is the floor-mounted burgundy toilet, adding character to the space. The sink area, also crafted from natural marble, is both stylish and functional. In the corner, there is a concealed cabinet housing utilities and providing additional storage space, enhancing the practicality of the room.
And finally, the "cherry on top" — the children’s room/study.
Since we didn’t know when our clients would have a child or the child’s gender, the room needed to be designed as a universal space, suitable for both a boy and a girl. Additionally, the room had to meet the needs of our client, who spends a lot of time at the computer for meetings and work.
The walls are decorated with Scandinavian wallpaper framed in wooden panels, adding warmth and style to the room. The desk and bed divide the space into two zones: one for work and the other for sleeping, which in the future can also become a play area for the child and a storage space for their belongings.
This apartment was an incredibly exciting opportunity for us to test our ideas in a new style. Now, we face an equally thrilling challenge — bringing this project to life. Here, we’ve attached a few photos from the implementation process.
To be continued...
We can’t wait to share the final result of this unique project. Stay tuned to see how all our ideas come to life!
