ECHOES OF THE HEART
Space Where Generations Heal Together
Design and Visualization by Anna Potoyan
Software: 3ds Max, Corona Renderer, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop
This project presents the design of a prototype therapeutic center aimed at fostering a healthier, more connected community by addressing social and environmental challenges. The project serves three primary user groups—elderly people, youth, and homeless animals—promoting intergenerational interaction and human-animal connection to encourage mutual care, responsibility, and emotional well-being.As a flexible prototype, the center can be adapted globally, demonstrating how thoughtfully designed spaces can nurture compassion, understanding, and social cohesion.
PROBLEMS THAT INFORMED THE PROJECT CONCEPT

PLAN . GROUND FLOOR
As mentioned previously, this project is a therapeutic center for elderly people and youth, as well as a shelter for small animals. To ensure cohesion and clarity, each animal house is color-coded according to the animals’ behavioral patterns: yellow for dogs, aqua blue for ducks, pink for rabbits, and purple for cats. Each house includes both indoor and outdoor spaces to provide maximum comfort for the animals. The facility also includes a cafeteria and first-aid rooms, serving the needs of both humans and animals, with an adjacent garden located next to the dogs’ area. To enhance visitor experience, innovative design features were incorporated into the building, visible in the elevations, and custom fencing was designed for each animal type to ensure safety while accommodating their different sizes.

CAPSULE THERAPY
This is the first space visitors encounter upon entering the building—a therapy area designed for both older adults and youth. Known as the “Capsule Therapy Zone,” it features a series of capsule installations, each containing advice exchanged between the generations. Each capsule is themed: the first focuses on health, the second on career and life paths, and the third on matters of the heart.
An elevator allows visitors to place their own advice into the capsules, while a designated area beneath the staircase provides seating for writing and printing contributions. This space serves as a supportive environment where individuals can seek guidance, gain insight, and benefit from the shared experiences of others across generations.
GLASS HOUSE
PLANE . 3D DIAGRAM
The glass bird house is designed to allow birds to fly freely while maintaining a visual connection to the sky through transparent walls and roofing. Glass enhances openness for the birds and allows visitors to observe their movement, creating a symbolic and functional interaction between humans and birds. The color palette balances ecological representation and human well-being, combining sky blue for flight with soft lavender for a calming, therapeutic effect.
Materials are strategically chosen: natural grass for visitor grounding, wood for bird resting areas, and colored metal to discourage prolonged perching in active zones. This combination of transparency, colors, and textures creates a multisensory environment that guides bird behavior while ensuring a harmonious experience for visitors.
