The apartment situated in Marseille, France it is Le Corbusier’s fames work called Unité d’Habitation.
This two-level apartment is designed with a longitudinal planning concept, defined by two strong linear axes. This spatial logic becomes especially evident on the upper floor, where circulation and functions align along these dominant lines. The access floor features an open-plan kitchen and living area that maximizes light and flow, while the upper level houses private zones in a more structured layout. The sections highlight double-height moments, vertical transitions, and a central core that organizes movement and visual connections throughout the space.

LIVING ROOM
The design preserves Le Corbusier’s original concept of connecting the living room with the balcony. A wooden platform placed at the balcony entrance maintains this seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, now thoughtfully integrated with the existing window panels.
The interior conveys a soft, rustic character through the use of natural materials such as wood, travertine, and clay.
The minimal and serene color palette is enhanced by an elegant damson tone, introducing gentle contrast and sophistication while giving the space a harmonious and balanced expression.
KITCHEN
The kitchen and living area are seamlessly connected to create an open, bright, and airy space, with the design language continuing consistently throughout.
From the living area, the second floor is visible through glass panels, revealing the main bedroom. Given the apartment’s horizontally oriented layout, this solution allows for a private, secluded bedroom while still maximizing the natural light from the only available source along that wall.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master bedroom was designed as a warm and intimate space. To create a cozy atmosphere, a rich cognac-toned wood was selected, adding depth and warmth to the space. Combined with soft warm-white surfaces, the palette adds brightness while maintaining a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. An important element of the design is the wooden stepped platform, which visually frames the bed and gives the impression that it is gently nestled within the wood.
