ÉCHO PARISIEN
Part one - Master bedroom
Type: Master bedroom
Area: 190 sq.m
Location: Paris, France
CONCEPT
The suite is set in the historic heart of Paris, inside a classical envelope with high ceilings, moldings and tall French windows. The design keeps the character of the building and layers a contemporary interior on top of it. Original proportions, wall paneling and the idea of a painted ceiling are preserved, while the furniture and built in elements are drawn as simple, soft volumes in oak, stone and desaturated green. The contrast between historic shell and quiet modern pieces creates a calm, timeless atmosphere that respects the heritage of the place and gently updates it for a private life today.
THE BED ISLAND
The bed is designed as an upholstered peninsula. A continuous, softly faceted headboard wraps around three sides and integrates nightstands, power and small trays for daily rituals. The bed stands on a large rug that defines its own room inside the room, a bench and low table extend the axis toward the window. Every radius, stitch and metal accent is tuned to feel generous but disciplined.
LIGHT AND MATERIAL
Lighting is built in layers: linear coves that wash the ceilings, pinpoint spots that graze the walls and dense clusters of glass pendants over the bed and seating areas. Materials stay intentionally reduced, wood, stone, suede, boucle, brushed metal, so that changes in texture and light, not color, define the zones. The result is a suite that feels both tailored and weightless, precise and quietly indulgent.
FIREPLACE LOUNGE
The room begins at the hearth. A curved stone fireplace anchors the main wall, framed by quiet paneling and a single tree in a deep planter. Two boucle armchairs and a low metal glass table sit on a textured rug, forming an intimate circle in front of the flames. The composition is deliberately low and soft so that the stone mass and painted ceiling stay the main focus.
CORRIDOR AND BAR NICHE
Approaching the suite, corridors are darkened and compressed: oak paneling, deep green stone portals and low light create a cinematic sequence. At the end, a bar niche with a stone counter and integrated lighting acts as a pause before entering the main room, a small ritual stop for water, coffee or a late drink.
DRESSING GALLERY
The wardrobe is treated as a luminous gallery, not a back of house closet. Full height glass fronts reveal a calm rhythm of rails and shelves in warm timber. The central island, with a glass top and suede cladding, displays accessories like a jewelry vitrine. Ceiling pendants fall in thin lines, repeating the geometry of the doors and stretching the depth of the space.
