Project Overview

Motion & Serenity is a plex renovation project designed as an innovative response to the growing reality of working from home.

The home is designed for a family of five: a couple and their three children. Both parents run an online business called Motion & Serenity, which reflects their complementary professional worlds.

The father is a virtual fitness coach who works full-time from home, focusing on movement, energy and physical activity, while the mother is a skincare entrepreneur who works remotely several days a week, focusing on calmness, well-being and self-care.

The project explores how architecture can balance these two lifestyles, creating a home where motion and serenity coexist harmoniously.

Context

With remote work becoming increasingly common, the home must adapt to new hybrid functions. It must support family life, professional activities, and moments of rest without compromising spatial harmony.

This project reimagines the domestic environment as a fluid ecosystem, where workspaces and living areas coexist naturally while preserving comfort and privacy.

Concept

The design seeks to translate the duality of movement and calmness into the spatial experience of the home.

Through organic forms, flowing circulation, and natural materials, the project creates a luminous continuity where spaces blend seamlessly and guide both movement and perception.

Living room

Architectural Intentions​​​​​​​

Spiral StaircaseThe sculptural staircase acts as the central gesture of the project, guiding circulation with a soft and fluid movement throughout the house.

Suspended MezzanineHovering above the dining room, the mezzanine plays with the relationship between solid and void, creating a dynamic open space where natural light flows freely.

Wooden slats extend toward the ceiling, adding vertical rhythm and depth while contrasting with the stone wall and smooth white ceiling.

Organic FurnitureCurved furniture reinforces the fluid language of the interior and enhances the sense of continuity between spaces.

Material & Atmosphere

Natural materials help ground the space in serenity.

A green stone countertop introduces an earthy presence, while the contrast between smooth and textured surfaces: wood and stone balances minimalism with warmth.

These contrasts reinforce the conceptual dialogue between motion and serenity.
