APARTMENT IN BROOKLYN
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Area: 360 m²
The project was designed for a Japanese photographer. This place consisted of creating a studio apartment not for living. The space became a place of power in which the creator can be charged with energy, inspired, with the possibility of having small parties.
The main task was to combine several spaces by creating a very open floor plan. We didn't focus our attention on the household elements of the apartment, but concentrated on the atmosphere and the mood of the space.
GUEST AREA
The kitchen area is minimalistic. All appliances are built in and hidden in the kitchen cabinet. The small stone kitchen island is equipped with a hob and a sink.
Several guest areas have been created in the apartment. We have thought of a place for relaxation and parties. Several sofas, armchairs, a dining area and a bar counter. A large number of lamps allows to adjust the level of light in each zone. A wide wooden shelving unit with a graffiti-painted glass wall behind it is designed for book storage. In the sleeping area, we have placed a low bed in a soft shade. In the center of the room, behind the bed, we installed a tub. The lighted closet is neatly hidden behind the slats.
The project involves different materials that are combined with each other, complementing each other. We used metall, wood, stone and textile. High arched windows are decorated with marble. Wide window sills with pillows allow relaxing with a view of New York City. This area was decorated with a vinyl figure by the American artist Kaws.
PRIVATE AREA
Private elements collected worldwide give the area a personal signature.
The suspended setting resulting from the combination of abstract white surfaces and a soft diffused lighting provides a silent background for the collection of objects and paintings. This project is multifaceted. It is full of bright decorative and lighting elements. Every inch of the apartment is imbued with creativity.
