一、从封闭校园到教育社区
From Enclosed Campus to Educational Community
无锡市洛社第二中心小学位于惠山区洛社镇洛神路与洛竹路交界处东北侧,四周目前均是空地,上位规划显示未来均为住宅区。地块用地面积 59495 平方米,建设需容下2430名学生的54班小学。

Wuxi Second Luoshe Central Primary School is situated at the northeast intersection of Luoshen Road and Luozhu Road in Luoshe Town, Huishan District. The site is currently surrounded by vacant land which is planned to be future residential area. Covering an area of 59,495 square meters, the project is supposed to accommodate 54 classes for 2,430 students.

面对场地周边自然景观与特色场所资源的匮乏,设计摒弃了依赖外部环境的传统思路,转向通过内部空间结构的系统性重构,构建一个自给自足、功能复合的“教育社区”。其核心是以“围合街区”、“十字街道”与“环线公园”三重立体街园的复合组织模式,取代传统的“鱼骨式”布局,通过功能的高度集约与空间的立体化组织,在有限场地内实现空间活力的最大化,最终将校园从单一的教学场所,转型为一个复合型教育生活园地。

Given the paucity of natural landscape and distinctive site resources in the surrounding area, the design eschews the traditional reliance on external environment. Instead, it pivots towards a systemic restructuring of the internal space to construct a self-sufficient, functionally integrated “Educational Community.” The core concept is to replace the conventional “fishbone” layout with a composite organizational model: a triple-dimensional system of “Enclosed Neighborhoods”, “Cross-shaped Streets”, and a “Loop Park”. Through highly intensive functional aggregation and three-dimensional spatial organization, this approach maximizes spatial vitality within the constrained site, ultimately transforming the campus from a teaching venue into an educational community.

The spatial generation of this educational community aims to integrate learning, living, and social interaction through a multi-scaled, networked structure. Its core logic can be deconstructed into three interlocking and interlinked spatial layers:

1.围合街区:差异化社区单元

The “Enclosed Neighborhoods” serve as the foundational functional units and community carriers of the educational community. By organizing different grade levels (e.g., Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6) and functions (administration/living, arts/sports) into distinct enclosed clusters, it forms “micro-communities” with a human scale and a strong sense of belonging. Each cluster is equipped with necessary basic functions, achieving a degree of self-sufficiency. This layout fosters the cultivation of cultural communities with shared identity. This is achieved primarily through two strategies:

1)差异化社区营造
Differentiated Community Creation
设计打造了四个功能组团,分别对应不同使用需求:低年级组团(1-3年级):采用明快色彩与富有童趣的空间形态,通过错落体量、雕塑感坡道与游戏化设施,营造激发探索欲的成长环境,契合低龄学生心理特征。
Four functional clusters are designed, catering to different user needs:
Lower Grades Cluster (Grades 1-3): Vibrant colors and playful spatial forms are employed. Offset volumes, sculptural ramps, and gameful installations create an environment stimulating exploration and growth, catering to the psychological characteristics of younger children.

高年级组团(4-6年级):以简洁形体与干净立面营造专注氛围,通过一层平台将大院落分解为多个小庭院,并设置多层次屋顶活动空间,满足社交与休闲需求。
Higher Grades Cluster (Grades 4-6):Simple forms and clean facades are employed to foster an atmosphere of concentration. Ground-level platforms subdivide the main courtyard into smaller patios, and multi-level rooftop activity spaces are provided to meet social and recreational needs.

行政生活组团:整合行政办公、餐饮与教工公寓,通过高墙分隔形成两个特色庭院—生态种植农场与静谧休憩园,并结合底层花园、屋顶农场与雨水系统构建生态微循环。
Administration & Living Cluster: Administrative offices, dining facilities, and staff apartments are integrated. A piece of tall wall divides the courtyard into two distinctive areas—an ecological farming plot and a tranquil garden. Ground-level gardens, rooftop farms, and rainwater systems establish a micro-ecological cycle.

艺体楼组团:注重使用效率与社会共享,艺术类教室临活力环布置便于联系教学区,体育馆南向城市道路设置,地下游泳馆、地面体育馆与二层排球馆均设独立出入口,支持分时段向社区开放,体现“校社融合”理念。
Arts & Sports Cluster:Availability and community sharing are prioritized. Arts classrooms are positioned adjacent to the “Vitality Loop” for easy access to the teaching area. The gymnasium faces the city road to the south. The underground swimming pool, ground-level gymnasium, and second-floor volleyball hall each have independent entrances, allowing for time-sharing community access, embodying the concept of “school-community integration.”

2)模块化建造体系
Modular Construction System
为平衡成本与效率,采用垂直正交体系,以8700 X 9600的标准教学单元柱网作为基础,同时结合一些特殊需求的教学空间适当改变柱网尺寸,打造整体统一又有一定丰富度的模块化组团。立面设计中以横向线条为主,局部通过嵌入模块化体量打破单调,实现弹性与高效的统一。

To balance cost and efficiency, a vertical orthogonal system is adopted. A standard teaching module column grid of 8700 x 9600 mm serves as the base, with dimensions adjusted for spaces with special pedagogical requirements. This creates modular clusters that are both unified and varied. The facade design is predominantly horizontal, with partial insertions of modular volumes to break monotony, achieving a balance between flexibility and efficiency.

2.十字街道:公共交互网络轴
Cross-shaped Streets: The Public Interactive Network Axis
“十字街道”作为校园整体空间结构的核心骨架与活力中枢,通过南北与东西两条开放轴线的立体交织,构建了一个多层次、全天候的公共交互网络。东西向轴线作为校园的形象主轴,自西侧主入口起,依次串联起入口广场、拱形阶梯、校园剧场等高公共性节点,形成具有序列感与仪式性的空间节奏,强化了校园门户形象与文化展示功能;南北向轴线则作为生活与学习交流轴,通过大台阶、架空连廊、共享平台等过渡性空间,有机衔接教学组团、生活服务区与运动场地,引导并承载师生日常通勤、课间交往与自发活动。两条轴线在校园几何中心交汇,围合形成尺度适宜、界面丰富的核心庭院,这一空间不仅成为视觉焦点,更通过柔性的边界、多向的接入与复合的功能设置,持续激发非正式学习、跨年级交往与公共生活事件。

The “Cross-shaped Streets” function as the core skeleton and vitality hub of the overall campus spatial structure. Through the three-dimensional interweaving of two open axes (north-south and east-west), a multi-level, all-weather public interaction network is established. The east-west axis serves as the campus’s primary image axis. Starting from the main entrance on the west, it sequentially connects high-publicity nodes such as the entrance plaza, arched steps, and the campus theater, creating a rhythmic sequence with a sense of ceremony, reinforcing the campus gateway image and cultural expression. The north-south axis functions as the daily life and learning communication axis. Through transitional spaces like grand stairs, elevated walkways, and shared platforms, it organically links teaching clusters, living service areas, and sports fields, guiding and accommodating daily commutes, communication between classes, and spontaneous activities. The two axes intersect at the geometric center of the campus, forming a core courtyard with an appropriate scale and rich interfaces. This space becomes not only a visual focus but also, through its soft edges, multi-directional access, and composite functions, continuously stimulates informal learning, cross-grade interaction, and public events.

3.环线公园:立体连接系统与效率环
Loop Park: The Three-dimensional Connection System and Efficiency Ring
“环线公园”作为在平面网络基础上建立的立体化连接系统,其核心价值在于提升通行效率与拓展活动维度。一层设置的风雨连廊确保了各教学组团与核心区在恶劣天气下的无障碍连通,体现了全天候人性化设计理念。二层平台则创新性地将交通空间转化为线性课间活动场域,突破了传统走廊的单一功能限制,为学生提供了即时、便捷的社交与轻度活动空间,实现了交通与活动功能的有机复合。
The “Loop Park,” established as a three-dimensional connection system based on the planar network, holds core value in enhancing circulation efficiency and expanding activity dimensions. A ground-level, weather-protected colonnade ensures barrier-free connection between teaching clusters and the core area during inclement weather, embodying a human-centric, all-weather design philosophy. The second-level platform innovatively transforms circulation space into a linear, recess-time activity field. It transcends the single function of traditional corridors, providing students with immediate and convenient spaces for socializing and light activity, achieving an organic integration of circulation and activity function.

在环形街区的漫游体验中,使用者也可感知到不同色彩标识的功能组团。校园立面整体以墨绿、橙、白与深灰四种颜色构成视觉体系,外立面以白色框架统一基调,通过内饰墙的差异化色彩强化各组团的识别性,在统一中营造差异。低年级组团以橙色凸显活力,高年级组团以墨绿传递沉稳,行政生活组团以白色象征秩序,艺体组团则以墨绿与白色结合呼应开放与动感。
During the meandering experience within the loop, users perceive the functionally distinct clusters marked by different colors. The campus facade’s visual system comprises four main colors: dark green, orange, white, and dark grey. The external facade is unified by a white frame, while accent colors on interior walls enhance the identity of each cluster, creating diversity within unity. Orange energizes the lower grades cluster, dark green conveys stability for the higher grades, white symbolizes order for the administrative cluster, and the combination of dark green and white in the arts/sports cluster echoes openness and dynamism.

“围合街区-十字街道-环线公园”共同构成了一种层次清晰、功能互补的空间生成系统:围合街区培育归属社群与稳定单元,十字街道塑造公共核心与集体认同,而环线公园则提供效率连接与活动拓展。
The “Enclosed Neighborhoods, Cross-shaped Streets, Loop Park” triad constitutes a spatially generative system with clear hierarchies and complementary functions: the Enclosed Neighborhoods cultivate belonging communities and stable units; the Cross-shaped Streets shape the public core and collective identity; and the Loop Park provides efficient connectivity and expanded activities.

三、无景之景,壶天自春
A Self-Contained Garden: Creating an Internal Community
针对场地周边资源匮乏的现实,本案探索了一种不依赖外景的校园内生范式:通过“围合街区-十字街道-环线公园”三重系统的立体编织,在有限用地中构建出功能复合、活力交织的教育生活共同体。最终呈现的“壶天自春”之境证明,即使缺乏外部景观依托,校园仍能通过内部空间的重构与社区化营造,实现持续的内生性活力与育人效能。
Addressing the reality of scarce surrounding resources, this project explores an endogenous paradigm for campuses independent of external views. Through the three-dimensional weaving of the “Enclosed Neighborhoods, Cross-shaped Streets, Loop Park” system, a functionally composite and vibrantly interconnected educational life community is constructed within the limited site. The resulting state of “a self-sustaining Garden” demonstrates that even without relying on external landscapes, a campus can achieve sustained endogenous vitality and educational efficacy through the reconfiguration of its internal space and community-oriented design.
