Text description provided by the architects. More space! More light! Open, flexible environments. It's time to grow! Benedetta, as in the best stories of craftsmanship and innovation, leaves her garage. The domestic space, which sheltered and inspired her for years, is no longer enough.. Demand is growing. Ideas are multiplying, and with them, collaborators. A new space is needed. A hub of services, logistics, laboratories for both creativity and production, administrative offices, common areas... in short, a headquarters.
In 2021, the company acquired an industrial warehouse of almost 2,000 square meters. Spacious, bright, and logistically perfect. Located between the city and the countryside, the new building represents the perfect compromise for those like Benedetta who have always lived in and drawn inspiration from the rural landscape of Tuscia.
The structure, divided into blocks, houses the entire artisanal supply chain in the largest one. From the storage of raw materials: fabrics, leathers, small wares, to production: cutting, sewing, assembly... a true tailoring workshop. Here, the space is unique and luminous. The ribbon windows, which surround the entire perimeter, flood the space with powerful natural light. The striking ceiling height that emphasizes the space is amplified by several vertical elements, first and foremost, the large curtain that envelops the entire block.
In addition to hiding the storage shelves at the back and along the walls, the curtain, like in a film studio, is both a technical and a scenographic tool. The flexible space not only supports production but also hosts a range of events, from presentations of new collections to more intimate social gatherings, where one can experience the sense of craftsmanship and family that lies behind the Benedetta Bruzziches brand.
And it is precisely with light and height that the project engages. A metal structure divides the space while maintaining visual permeability. Opal glass filters—or rather, selects—the light, but does not shield it. No technical installations are dropped from above. Everything is within the frame, everything is concealed. Function and display coexist within the architecture. The stylistic and design synthesis leaves room for the owner's creativity, transforming an industrial space into something domestic and original, with sewing machines and bar chairs redefining the atmosphere.
The method is repeated in the second block. Spread across two levels, it houses the company's reception and administrative functions, as well as the design office — Benedetta's atelier. At its center stands the large work table. Blending in material and color with the surrounding environment, it represents the core and origin of every creation.
Around it, horizontal surfaces free from rigid geometry create a natural, almost ethereal continuity, interrupted only by lacquered wooden service volumes that conceal and separate the more technical functions. Here, as in the rest of the rooms, one can feel and breathe the carefully sought and finally achieved harmony of elements. Artworks and tools, books and design objects, plants and pencils everywhere, iconic elements of a workshop, the synthesis of a newfound balance between architecture and craftsmanship.
