Greenwich Street Loft 是由设计事务所埃尔莫工作室（Elmo Studios）为一位年轻科技行业高管打造的住宅改造项目，位于纽约哈德逊广场（Hudson Square）一栋具有阁楼特征的公寓之中。原有空间为两卧两卫半的格局，拥有充足的自然采光与开阔层高，为空间更新提供了良好的建筑基础。设计团队在保留原有空间结构优势的前提下，对室内布局与细部进行系统梳理，使住宅在都市气质、个人叙事与当代生活方式之间形成平衡。

Greenwich Street Loft is a residential renovation project designed by Elmo Studios for a young executive in the technology industry. It is located in an apartment with a loft feature in Hudson Square, New York. The original space was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom and half-bathroom layout, with ample natural light and a spacious ceiling height, providing a solid architectural foundation for the space renovation. The design team, while preserving the structural advantages of the original space, systematically reorganized the interior layout and details, achieving a balance between the urban atmosphere, personal narrative, and contemporary lifestyle of the residence.

空间组织层面，设计通过重新调整动线与功能关系，将次卧改造为兼具书房与客房功能的复合空间，从而提升住宅在日常居住与接待访客之间的灵活性。开放式厨房被设置为家庭生活与社交活动的核心区域，与客厅和餐厅自然衔接，形成连贯而开放的公共空间，使原本典型的阁楼格局呈现出更加完整而流畅的空间体验。

At the level of spatial organization, the design re-adjusts the flow lines and functional relationships to transform the secondary bedroom into a combined space that serves both as a study and a guest room, thereby enhancing the flexibility of the residence in terms of daily living and hosting guests. The open kitchen is set as the core area for family life and social activities, seamlessly connecting with the living room and dining room, creating a coherent and open public space, which gives the typical attic layout a more complete and smooth spatial experience.

材料的选择与运用构成了项目的重要表达。定制橡木木作与质感细腻的石材共同构成空间的主要基调，经过精细处理的石材表面在关键位置形成沉静而明亮的背景，为业主收藏的艺术品与个人物件提供展示舞台。整体色彩体系保持克制，通过不同材质之间的层次组合营造温润而稳重的空间氛围。

The selection and application of materials form an important expression of the project. Customized oak woodwork and finely textured stone together constitute the main tone of the space. The finely processed stone surfaces form a calm and bright background at key positions, providing a display stage for the owners collected artworks and personal items. The overall color scheme is restrained, and through the layering combination of different materials, a warm and stable spatial atmosphere is created.

整体气质上，设计在细节中融入业主的伊朗文化背景，并与中世纪现代主义风格形成含蓄的呼应。隐藏式储物、细致的木作拼接以及尺度得当的照明系统，使空间在保持简洁秩序的同时呈现出细腻而温暖的生活质感。住宅内部因此形成一种安静且富有层次的都市居住环境，使建筑、室内空间与个人收藏在日常生活中自然交织。

Overall, the design incorporates the Iranian cultural background of the owner in its details, and creates an implicit echo with the medieval modernist style. Hidden storage, meticulous woodwork assembly, and appropriately sized lighting systems all contribute to the space maintaining a simple order while presenting a delicate and warm living atmosphere. As a result, the interior of the residence forms a quiet and layered urban living environment, allowing the building, interior space, and personal collections to naturally interweave in daily life.
