About Apartment Battersea
Apartment Battersea is a 95 m² apartment in London’s Battersea Power Station district, designed for a young couple. The interior follows a calm, contemporary approach in which comfort, proportion, and material clarity shape everyday life.
The layout brings the kitchen and living room together as one fluid area, allowing the apartment to breathe and making room for cooking, hosting, and relaxing within a single continuous setting. Rather than dividing these routines, the plan lets them unfold naturally across the main living area.
The green kitchen acts as the clearest visual anchor. That tone returns in the textiles and in the custom coffee table made from Brazilian green marble, creating a quiet thread through the apartment without overwhelming the restrained palette.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and two balconies visually extend the interior and connect it to the surrounding greenery and London’s soft light. This sense of extension gives the main rooms a more open feel and strengthens the link between inside and out.
American walnut engineered flooring brings warmth and depth to the living areas, while large-format porcelain tiles in the bathrooms create smooth, sculptural surfaces. Built-in oak veneer elements continue the logic of the flooring, helping organize the apartment and reduce visual noise.
Most of the furniture was designed specifically for the project, and several pieces are integrated directly into the architecture. That approach creates a cohesive, functional environment where fixed elements and freestanding pieces read as part of the same whole.
The sofa and armchairs were selected for their tone and texture, reinforcing the calm atmosphere. Custom pieces such as the marble table, lighting, and accessories serve as measured focal points, adding character without upsetting the overall balance.
The result is a contemporary home defined by the contrast between warm wood and the saturated green kitchen. Durable materials, integrated storage, and a restrained palette make the apartment comfortable for daily life and resilient over time.
