Whispering Stone is a 200 sqm honeymoon retreat located in Saudi Arabia, designed as part of a larger resort development. The unit is conceived as a modular prototype that can be repeated across the site, offering privacy, intimacy, and a consistent architectural identity within the resort masterplan.The concept is rooted in the idea of carved serenity — an architectural language that feels as if it was sculpted from natural stone rather than constructed. Inspired by desert rock formations and organic cave geometries, the space embraces fluid forms, soft edges, and textured surfaces that evoke a sense of timeless permanence.

The design blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior. Large glass openings frame controlled views of the private courtyard and pool, allowing natural light to wash across the sculpted stone walls. The architecture becomes both shelter and scenery — protective yet open.Materiality plays a central role in defining the mood. Warm sandstone textures, natural wood finishes, and soft neutral fabrics create a calming, intimate atmosphere tailored for honeymooners. The lighting strategy shifts the experience throughout the day — from golden sunset warmth to a serene, softly illuminated night ambiance.

Exterior & Landscape

The exterior composition is inward-oriented, centered around a private courtyard and pool that act as the heart of the unit. The landscape is intentionally minimal, allowing the architectural stone forms to dominate while subtle greenery softens the composition. Natural paving, integrated pool lighting, and carefully framed openings strengthen the relationship between built form and open space. The design blurs boundaries between shelter and landscape, transforming the courtyard into a secluded sanctuary that enhances both privacy and sensory experience within the resort context.

Interior Design

The interior experience is designed to feel immersive and intimate, where architecture becomes atmosphere. Sculpted stone walls flow seamlessly into ceilings and built-in elements, creating a continuous spatial envelope that enhances privacy and calmness. A warm earthy palette, natural wood accents, and soft textured fabrics balance the raw stone surfaces, adding comfort without disrupting the minimal language. Lighting plays a central role in shaping the mood — from soft daylight filtering through large openings to controlled ambient illumination at night, creating a serene cinematic environment tailored for quiet connection.
