Lakhta Center (lakhta.center/en ) is a large scale project of the construction of a modern business area in the north-west of Saint Petersburg. Opening in 2018, the new multi-purpose center overlooks the Baltic Sea. The headquarters of Gazprom Neft and other Gazprom Group companies will be the center of the cluster in Primorsky district to be surrounded by business enterprises. The concept of the project implies the construction of a large office center and a scientific and educational complex. For the citizens it is planned to build a sports complex, a children’s techno-park and a series of free public facilities, including shops, restaurants, cafes and other services.

Exclusiva is key contractor for the interior design of public spaces.

The main theme in the design is energy. This invisible entity is the engine of everything: it generates movement, forces a liquid to change its state, evolves and transforms. Water recurs, too, becoming liquid, sinuous shapes or freezing in jagged, geometric pieces.

From time to time, the theme of energy is depicted through light, interaction and living surfaces in the design.

The lines express movement, speed and dynamism: a tension towards the future that is necessarily combined with experimentation and technological innovation.

The juxtaposition of the buildings produces a “natural canyon” that expands the space of the atrium upwards, like a town-sized gallery dominated by the sphere of the planetarium.
