Casa Celeste is a 2024 apartment renovation in Naples, Italy, by FADD Architects. Reworking roughly 80 square meters (861 square feet), the project centers daily life on an open living area where the kitchen, sitting room, and book wall meet beneath recovered brick vaults. Hand-painted ceramics, Majorelle blue, and custom marble pieces give the interiors a local register with a broader Mediterranean inflection.

About Casa Celeste
In Naples, where hospitality is woven into domestic culture, Casa Celeste takes shape as a home made to receive others. Within an apartment of about 80 square meters (861 square feet), the project reorganizes the rooms around an open, sociable living area where the kitchen, sitting room, and bookcase connect with ease.
During the renovation, the original brick vaults were brought back to light after remaining hidden for years. Their recovery becomes the starting point of the project, returning depth and character to the existing architecture. Beneath these textured surfaces, the interior unfolds as a continuous setting in which the kitchen opens toward the living room and a large wall of books recalls the atmosphere of a domestic library.
Materials and color are measured carefully to build a balance between local grounding and more distant references. Hand-painted ceramics from Vietri point to a clear bond with the region, while Majorelle blue introduces a deeper note tied to travel and Mediterranean influences. Marble, wood, and glass are combined with restraint, helping shape an atmosphere that feels warm and layered.
The layout grows from precise decisions meant to make the most of every square meter. The shower is integrated into the bedroom, allowing the home’s only bathroom to take on the role of a small formal guest bath. Custom elements, including a Verde Alpi marble sink and mirrors designed specifically for the apartment, strengthen the exacting and crafted character of the interiors.
The artworks placed throughout the apartment come from the homeowner’s own artistic production. They are not intended as fixed elements; over time, they make room for new pieces, turning the domestic setting into a collection that remains in flux. Architecture, in turn, stays constant as the stable ground for daily life and artistic research.
