T.A Amira Abdelkarim
Category : Healthcare Facility
Project Year : 2024
Location : Hurghada
An interior design project for a Burn and Dermatology Hospital aiming to create a calm and supportive healing environment for patients and medical staff. The design is based on the Voronoi Regeneration concept, inspired by organic patterns in nature to express healing and renewal, while enhancing psychological comfort through appropriate lighting, natural materials, and well-organized circulation within the spaces.

FIRST FLOOR PLAN
The design concept is based on Voronoi geometry, a cellular pattern inspired by nature and biological systems, symbolizing regeneration, growth, and adaptability—values that directly relate to the healing journey of burn patients.
This geometric pattern is translated into interior design elements such as walls, ceilings, partitions, and furniture, forming a unified and continuous design language throughout the spaces. Curved lines and organic forms are used instead of sharp edges, as they contribute to enhancing a sense of calm and reducing stress.
Self-healing materials were incorporated not merely as a technical solution, but as a philosophical extension of the project’s healing concept. Just as these materials have the ability to repair micro-cracks autonomously, their use reflects the notion of the human body’s gradual recovery where healing does not occur instantly, but unfolds over time through patience and continuous support.
The skylight design ensures natural light penetration, reducing reliance on artificial lighting, while enhancing ventilation and creating a sense of spaciousness and height. The area is surrounded by greenery to add a natural and lively touch to the space.

This project showcases a thoughtful interior design approach for the AHL_MISR Hospital branch in Hurghada, inspired by the concept of "Voronoic Regeneration." By integrating natural light, biophilic elements, and self-healing materials, the design creates a soothing, functional, and visually engaging environment for both patients and staff.
The spaces are carefully zoned to enhance efficiency, comfort, and well-being, while maintaining a modern and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. This project reflects a commitment to healing through design, where architecture meets care, light, and nature
