CLM Residence is a house in São Paulo, Brazil, by Raiz Arquitetura. The project organizes daily life around open rooms, shaded terraces, and wide views, keeping city comfort in step with the surrounding landscape. Inside, the plan shifts from shared areas to quieter private wings with a calm, measured rhythm.
About CLM Residence
CLM Residence is conceived as a retreat shaped around the client’s wish for rest and a break from daily routines. In São Paulo, Brazil, Raiz Arquitetura arranges the house to keep urban comfort close at hand while maintaining a clear connection to nature.
The social area opens in a broad, fluid plan. Living, dining, kitchen, and leisure functions sit together with easy circulation, and the nearly all-glass living room keeps the interior in close conversation with the landscape outside. Service areas stay tucked behind the kitchen and gourmet zone, reached through concealed doors.
A darker palette and a lower ceiling define the home theater block, giving the room a more enclosed feel. Above it, a large planter continues the relationship with the exterior landscaping, while the guest suite and powder room at the front act as a screen that protects privacy in the social areas.
Between the front block and the service block, vertical circulation links to a wooden walkway with a glass balustrade. The upper floor holds the suites in a quieter wing, and nearly every bedroom looks out toward green areas. At the rear, the master suite opens across its full width, joining bedroom and bathroom, while the balcony jacuzzi extends the experience toward the Atlantic Forest.
On the front façade, the upper volume appears lifted by recessed slender pillars, leaving a gap that gives the structure a lighter reading. Irregular vertical brise panels in dark gray aluminum add privacy to the bedrooms and cast shifting patterns of light and shadow when opened. A gap in the slab between the garage and living room admits daylight into a garden that is folded into the interior, and the Tauari wood ceiling gives that middle level a warmer presence.
The slab continues toward the back of the house, where a veranda shades the social area and opens to expansive glass doors. Overlapping roof slabs at different heights, with windows set between them, bring in abundant natural light and keep views moving between the rooms, the walkways, and the Serra do Mar horizon. At the rear of the lot, a light slab on pilotis shelters the leisure areas, while low furniture, a pool, a spa, and an infinity edge keep the forest in view and tie the side and back edges of the property together.
