FGR's signature design understatement sees the fully integrated design of calm exterior and lively, animated interiors. Liveability is the underlying driver in a design that moulds to the site and our clients' lifestyle. The Hopetoun's geometric form is one of ordered spatial clarity. FGR's ambition for real generosity throughout combines commercial-grade components and scale matched with carefully nuanced, contemplative spaces.

Muscular in form and plan, the house draws nature deep within through a glazing program and operable door systems. Fresh-air ventilation and sunlight capture are easily at hand. Outside/inside is dissolved via windows as walls and landscape as a holistic spatial informer.

The balance of technology and poetry is finely calibrated throughout with a building vocabulary characterised by rhythm, refinement, and resolution. This cadence of spaces satisfies the desire for privacy, prospect, comfort, and security.

This Hopetoun's sculptural energy is as varied as the monolithic concrete panels on the southern boundary to the armature-like concrete staircase. These tactile elements predominate throughout with purpose-built spaces from grand to intimate.

The overriding effect is material consistency and a streamlined form. The result exhibits lustre, patina, and warmth in addition to outstanding thermal mass properties. This tight material palette and artful composition of windows and walls combine to nurture a strong human grounding and sense of belonging.
