Interior Design Project for a Pottery, Ceramics and Handicrafts Store in Cairo
The project began with a critical question: Why are handmade crafts often displayed haphazardly, denying them the opportunity to be seen and appreciated for their true value?
The challenge was to elevate the product from a mere commodity to a high-value 'Art Piece,' while preserving its authentic identity and fostering community engagement.
To achieve this, we moved away from the traditional retail layout and adopted an 'Art Gallery' approach. By utilizing museum-grade lighting and a minimalist display strategy, we highlighted the uniqueness of every single piece. The interior finishes incorporate the same raw materials used in the products to maintain a cohesive spatial identity. Furthermore, we integrated a live workshop within the space. This ensures sustainability by reducing operational costs while serving as an educational hub—achieving both economic viability and an active social role.
