Concept & Vision
explores the intersection of fluid geometry and structural rigidity. The project was designed to evoke a sense of "quiet luxury" through a monochromatic earth-toned palette, emphasizing open-flow transitions and the interplay of natural light. The core philosophy centers on Shibui—finding beauty in simplicity and subtle details.
Spatial Study
The Sculptural Core
The home is anchored by a breathtaking helical staircase. The soft, sweeping curves of the white plaster contrast against the vertical rhythm of the dark wood slats. This central element serves as functional art, bridging the levels while allowing light to filter through a glass-block feature wall.
Fluid Living & Dining
The open-plan living area utilizes low-profile furniture to maintain sightlines.
Living: A modular L-shaped sofa in oatmeal linen rests on a custom-etched rug that mimics the patterns of raked sand.
Dining: An oval marble-topped table is paired with ergonomic "petal" chairs in slate blue and charcoal, providing a subtle pop of cool tones against the warm oak flooring.
The Culinary Hub
The kitchen transitions into a darker, more sophisticated mood.
Dual Islands: A fluted white marble breakfast bar provides a tactile transition, while the inner prep island features integrated matte-black appliances.
Materials: Dark walnut cabinetry is balanced by a seamless Calacatta marble backsplash and countertop, illuminated by under-cabinet LED strips.
