The Double Apartment is a studio on the top floor of a new multi-apartment building in the village of Bryukhovychi, near Lviv. Its total area is only 32 square meters, but its significant feature and advantage is a cosy terrace overlooking the green treetops of the university park.

The shape of the apartment is almost a square with an entrance in the centre of one faces. We got it empty, without the existing partitions of the bathroom or bedroom. All of that gives advantages to space planning.

Client - is a young woman with great creative potential, works with sewing, decorating, loves lots of greenery and light. We set ourselves the goal to leave this space bright and sightly, without losing touch with the street and the green spot of the forest, ensuring the privacy of those areas that should not be open to everyone's eye.

We strived to frame the customer's personality with interior design. As well as emphasize the peculiarity of the location of the apartment. In this case - the green crowns of trees are one of the design elements in this project. We tried not to overload the space with details and focus on the panorama outside the window, but to continue the mood of the suburban apartment with the interior, which already mentally tends to city life.

The main decision that dictated the mood of the apartment was the placement of the bed. We surveyed the living room space with a podium, in the frame of which is located hidden bed. The rise serves as a border of privacy and at the same time as a large sofa on which you can throw pillows and soft ottomans to spend cosy evenings with friends. Also, if necessary, it becomes a place of work, conditionally separated from the rest of the apartment. Walking up over the podium, as well as passing the doorway - you cross the nominal border. Also, the elevation connects the levels of access to the terrace from the living room. In the end, we got two different areas of outside space: a kitchen with a relatively everyday connection that can be used for planting and a private ​​entrance to the balcony from the bedroom at its own level for relaxing.

Functional areas include a hallway area, a bathroom, a workshop kitchen area, a living room area and a wardrobe area with a bed hidden in the podium. The interior has clear lines with elements of weaving and needlework to emphasize the individuality of the customer. The entire floor area is covered with solid ceramic tiles with underfloor heating in the kitchen-living room and bathroom. The ceiling is an open and cleaned concrete slab.​​​​​​​The colour scheme in the interior is light and neutral. Furniture elements are made of plywood with hints of grass green.
