INTRODUCTION

位于海得拉巴不断演变的城市结构之中，杜尔甘切鲁湖的更新项目将湖泊重新构想为一种“可被体验的城市景观”——一个沉浸式的绿洲空间，旨在重建城市与其生态与地质根源之间的联系。项目以自然与城市生活之间的对话为出发点，将这一曾被低效利用的自然资源转化为充满活力的公共领域，承载休闲、文化与集体体验。其核心理念在于：设计应源自场地本身，回应地形、水系统与既有生物多样性，从而实现建成环境与自然之间的无缝融合。

Set within the evolving urban fabric of Hyderabad, the regeneration of Durgam Cheruvu reimagines the lake as a performative urban landscape that is an immersive oasis aiming to reconnect the city with its ecological and geological roots. Conceived as a dialogue between nature and urban life, the project transforms an underutilized natural asset into a vibrant public realm that enables recreation, culture, and collective experience. At its core, the intervention is driven by the idea that design must emerge from the site itself, responding to its terrain, water systems, and existing biodiversity to create a seamless integration between the built and the natural.

Envisioned as an inclusive destination, the project caters to a diverse user base, from millennials and Gen Z to families and tourists. A layered mix of cultural, recreational, and social programs ensures activity throughout the day and into the evening, with high-energy attractions balanced by quieter, contemplative spaces. These programmatic anchors are distributed across the site to create a dynamic and consistently active public realm.

场地与背景

SITE & CONTEXT

场地汇聚了多种独特的自然要素：富有戏剧性的岩石地貌、开阔的湖岸线、全景湖景以及茂密的植被覆盖，同时还拥有一座标志性的桥梁，构成海得拉巴的重要地标。这些特质共同塑造了湖区鲜明的生态与视觉身份，使其成为城市中潜在的重要资源。总体规划并未强加新的秩序，而是顺应并强化这些既有系统，保留并放大场地的自然特征。景观成为主要框架，引导空间组织、流线以及功能分布。

The site is defined by a rare confluence of natural elements, such as dramatic rock formations, expansive waterfront edges, panoramic lake views, and dense green cover, with a signature bridge that is a key landmark of Hyderabad. These attributes establish a strong ecological and visual identity, positioning the lake as a latent urban asset within the city. Rather than imposing a new order, the masterplan works with these existing systems, preserving and amplifying the natural character of the site. The landscape becomes the primary framework, guiding spatial organization, movement, and program distribution.

设计方法

DESIGN APPROACH

设计植根于一种理念：建筑应从自然中生长，并最终与自然融为一体。项目从区域的地质历史中汲取灵感——场地中的岩石源于火山喷发后形成的熔岩残留。在这一自然演化逻辑的延续下，规划策略通过计算方法模拟熔岩流动的形态，在场地中生成有机的空间结构。进一步地，借助人工智能驱动的模拟分析识别关键活动节点，并将其转化为具有吸引力的“功能涡旋”。这些“涡旋”通过流动的路径网络与开放空间相互连接，加强了空间的连续性与视觉联系。

The design is rooted in the philosophy that architecture should evolve from nature and ultimately become indistinguishable from it. Drawing inspiration from the geological history of the region, the rocks are naturally occurring as a residue of lava from the volcanic eruption. As a continuation of this evolution, the planning strategy uses computational processes to emulate lava flow formations and generate organic spatial patterns across the site. Further using Artificial intelligence-driven simulations to identify key activity nodes and then eventually translate them into programmatic vortexes. These vortexes are interconnected through a fluid network of pathways and open spaces, reinforcing both movement and visual continuity.

MASTERPLAN & MOVEMENT

总体规划围绕湖岸展开，组织为一系列相互连接的空间体验。流线被构想为一种体验性的旅程，湖滨步道构成主要骨架，串联起各个功能区域。移动不仅是功能性的，更是一种沉浸式过程——在行进中引导视线、展开景观，并创造停留的片刻。从林荫漫步道到架空观景平台，再到穿行于岩石地貌之间的路径，设计在多重尺度上激发探索与参与。

The masterplan unfolds as a sequence of interconnected experiences structured around the lake edge. Circulation is conceived as an experiential journey, with lakefront walkways forming the primary spine that connects various program zones. Movement is not merely functional but immersive while framing views, revealing landscapes, and creating moments of pause. From shaded promenades to elevated decks and pathways carved through rock formations, the design encourages exploration and engagement at multiple scales.

入口体验被塑造为具有标志性的时刻——通过“莲花广场”展开。受印度国花启发的雕塑化遮阳构件营造出开放而富有仪式感的到达空间，这一建筑姿态兼具象征性与功能性，在提供遮荫的同时建立清晰的场所识别。公共空间进一步通过带顶步道、广场及互动区域得到强化，鼓励人们聚集与交流。

Entrance experience is envisioned as a landmark moment, which is welcomed by the Lotus Plaza, where sculptural shading elements inspired by the national flower create a sense of arrival and openness. Creating an architectural gesture that is both symbolic and performative, providing shade while establishing a distinct identity. The public realm is further enriched through shaded walkways, plazas, and interactive spaces that encourage gathering and social interaction.

标志性天际线与运河休闲体验

ICONIC SKYLINE & CANAL LEISURE-EXPERIENCE

项目引入一系列文化设施，共同塑造城市新的天际线。以跨越湖面的标志性桥梁为核心构筑要素，一端连接科学博物馆，另一端则布局多功能剧院、工艺与艺术博物馆以及会议中心。这些建筑被策略性地布置，以建立鲜明的视觉与文化识别，同时框定标志性桥梁，形成具有象征性的城市景观。此外，剧院与会议中心直接与城市一侧相连，确保便捷的可达性。

The project introduces a series of cultural institutions that collectively define a new skyline for the city. Anchored by a signature bridge over the lake, which is a key built element that connects with a science museum at one end, and a multifunctional theatre, art & craft museum and conference centre on another side of the bridge. Strategically positioned to create a strong visual, cultural identity, while framing the signature bridge and becoming an iconic view. Further, connecting the theatre and convention centre directly to the city side for easy accessibility.

在此基础上，总体规划还嵌入了多层次的体验、酒店与生活方式空间。一座俯瞰湖面的精品酒店，通过层叠的泳池设计强化与水岸的亲密关系，提供沉浸式体验；进一步延伸的自然度假区，则在整体公共框架中提供更为安静的休憩环境。一个受海得拉巴“珍珠文化”启发的高端设计与零售综合体，引入精致的商业层次，将地方文化转译为当代空间体验。

Complementing this is a series of experience, hospitality and lifestyle experiences embedded within the masterplan. A boutique hotel with cascading pools overlooking the lake, offering a more intimate and immersive engagement with the water’s edge. This is further extended through a nature resort that allows for a quieter retreat within the larger public framework. A high-end design and retail complex, inspired by Hyderabad’s legacy of pearls, introduces a refined commercial layer, translating local cultural identity into a contemporary spatial experience.

另一条体验路径沿运河展开，被构想为充满活力的休闲走廊。该区域将零售、餐饮与娱乐功能融入阶梯式地形之中，通过露台与平台消解高差。运河成为活跃的社交轴线，两侧布置咖啡馆、精酿酒吧及公共空间，并向景观中延伸。点缀绿植的步道构成开放而渗透的边界，模糊了建成环境与自然之间的界限。

A secondary layer of experience unfolds along the canal edge, conceived as a vibrant leisure corridor. This zone integrates retail, dining, and entertainment within a stepped landscape that negotiates level differences through terraces and platforms. The canal becomes an active social spine that is lined with cafés, breweries, and public spaces that extend into the landscape. Walkways interspersed with greenery create a porous edge, blurring the boundary between built and natural environments.

与自然共生

LIVING WITH NATURE

在城市界面之外，项目进一步引入多个区域，使人们能够更深入地接触自然。露营（glamping）、森林疗愈、攀岩以及徒步路径等活动被整合进自然地形之中。这些介入以“轻触式”为原则，在提升体验丰富性的同时，最大程度地保护场地的生态完整性。总体规划中的重要组成部分还包括对生物多样性的关注——植物园、温室以及漂浮湿地共同构成一套生态系统网络。这些空间有助于环境修复，提升水质，支持本地动植物生长，并在场地中形成多样的微气候。

Beyond the urban interface, the project introduces zones that allow deeper engagement with nature. Activities such as glamping, forest bathing, rock climbing, and trekking trails are integrated within the natural terrain. These interventions are intentionally light-touch, preserving the ecological integrity of the site while enhancing its experiential richness. A significant component of the masterplan is dedicated to biodiversity, with botanical gardens, conservatories, and floating wetlands forming a network of ecological systems. These spaces contribute to environmental restoration, helping with improving water quality, supporting local flora and fauna, and creating microclimates across the site.

基础设施与可持续性

INFRASTRUCTURE & SUSTAINABILITY

项目采用整体化的可持续策略，将水资源、能源与交通视为相互关联的系统加以统筹。通过引入污水处理系统、湖岸缓冲带及生态过滤机制，逐步恢复湖泊的生态健康。在能源方面，项目朝向“净零”目标推进，结合光伏发电、区域制冷系统以及高效建筑技术。

The project adopts an integrated approach to sustainability, addressing water, energy, and mobility as interconnected systems. Wastewater treatment, shoreline buffers, and ecological filtration systems are introduced to restore the health of the lake. Energy strategies move towards a net-zero aspiration, incorporating photovoltaic installations, district cooling, and efficient building systems.

杜尔甘切鲁湖的更新不仅是一项总体规划，更是一种重新思考城市如何与自然资源建立关系的框架。通过整合功能、生态与基础设施，项目构建了一个具有韧性与适应性的公共环境，并能够随着使用者的变化不断演进。湖泊不再只是目的地，而成为一个“活的系统”，在文化、社区与生态之间实现平衡共生。

The regeneration of Durgam Cheruvu is envisioned as more than a masterplan; it is a framework for rethinking how cities engage with their natural assets. By aligning programs, ecology, and infrastructure, the project creates a resilient and adaptive public realm that evolves with its users. It positions the lake not just as a destination, but as a living system, one that supports culture, community, and environment in equal measure.
