Objective:

In response to the need for improved living conditions for migrant workers at Changi Lodge 2, Singapore. Dorm.ify is designed as a holistic space. This space is tailored to the diverse needs of migrant workers, focusing on privacy, dignity, a sense of belonging, and happiness. Dorm.ify offers five distinct dorm unit types, catering to various occupancy needs and a communal green space to boost interaction among the residents and overall well-being.

Features:

Comfortable Living Spaces (shared rooms with privacy, personal storage, ventilation and lighting)

Hygienic and Functional Facilities (personal restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, communal kitchen)

Wellness and Recreation Areas (relaxation zones, green spaces, communal balconies)

ISSUES

These dormitories often face overcrowding, unhygienic, safety and overall quality of life. ensuring that migrant workers have access to clean, safe and comfortable accommodations is a critical concern. It directly impacts thier physical and mental well health.

The site consists of 5 blocks. The blocks at the center are block A and block B which is my main site. As level 1 consists of communal kitchen and dining space with 10 dorm units and shared toilet and shower area. Level 2 is a complete space of 20 dorm units and shared toilet and shower area. Each dorm unit is shared among 12 residents.
