How to create an outstanding atmosphere for patients leaving the hospital?

This pharmacy was especially built to centralize the medical dispensing for patients leaving hospitalization. It is located right in the centre of the hospital in the large entrance hall of house 03. The entrance hall serves as the main indoor junction for patients, relatives and stuff. It got refreshed with a new ceiling and a lighting system which adapts to the daylight condition. It is a room for orientation while walking through.

The design concept of the pharmacy is to create another illuminated patio within the entrance hall. A luminous ceiling and glass walls create openness and transparency. With the displacement of medical dispensing into a barrier free and central location, impatient services got improved. The so called „campus pharmacy“ is an atmospheric space aiming to create a positive last  impression of the hospital.

The light and cloudy impression is created by furniture of maple, bunch of flowers, fine lined glass prints and a slowly changing luminous ceiling. The medicine is stored in a robotic storage machine of the basement, automatically transported to each counter. So, there is no need for advertisements or exhibiting medicine. The only thing that counts is „Get well soon!“
