This project is based on the brand Lottusse, which is known for its high-quality leather products and traditional craftsmanship. The goal was to design something that fits within the brand’s identity while introducing a new concept.

The idea behind the project is “Calma”, which means creating a calm, slow, and more mindful experience for the user. Instead of focusing only on function, the design aims to make the user feel relaxed and connected to the object.

To achieve this, the project focuses on:

Simple and minimal forms

Soft, natural materials

Comfort and ease of use

A strong emotional connection between the user and the product

The final design reflects a balance between tradition and modernity, keeping Lottusse’s craftsmanship while introducing a more contemporary and experiential approach.

Ideation & Sketching

During this phase, different design ideas were explored through freehand sketching and visual experimentation. The focus was on testing various forms, proportions, and interaction possibilities, while translating the concept of Calma into a physical design.

Multiple directions were developed, exploring how simplicity, softness, and balance could be expressed through shape and structure. Sketching was used as a tool to quickly generate and compare ideas, allowing for a wide range of possibilities without being limited by precision.

Through this process, certain directions were refined while others were discarded, based on how well they aligned with the concept and the brand’s identity. This stage helped identify the most coherent and promising idea to move forward into development.

Material & Construction

Material selection played a key role in reinforcing the concept of Calma and staying aligned with the identity of Lottusse. The focus was on using high-quality, natural materials, particularly leather, known for its durability, softness, and ability to age over time.

Different material options were explored to understand their texture, flexibility, and visual appearance, ensuring they contribute to a comfortable and refined user experience. The goal was to create a product that not only looks minimal but also feels pleasant to touch and use.

In terms of construction, attention was given to clean assembly, precise stitching, and structural clarity. Every detail was considered to maintain a balance between craftsmanship, functionality, and aesthetic simplicity, resulting in a design that reflects both quality and long-term usability.

The final outcome presents a minimal and elegant design that embodies the concept of Calma. Through the combination of form, material, and atmosphere, the project creates a calm and sensory experience, while staying consistent with the identity and values of Lottusse.
