Integrative & Biophilic Pharmacy Redesign

Farmacia Albiol, located in the Delta de l’Ebre, rethinks what a rural pharmacy can be. The project is based on the idea of an Integrative Pharmacy, where conventional medicine is combined with nutrition, phytotherapy, and preventive care. Instead of focusing on quick transactions, the space encourages conversation, trust, and a closer relationship between pharmacist and patient.

The space uses natural, local materials to create a calm atmosphere. Lime finishes, earth-based surfaces, and cob bring warmth and texture, moving away from the typical sterile pharmacy feeling. The materials make the space feel grounded, soft, and welcoming.

The layout supports conversation and privacy. Curved forms soften the movement through the space, and dedicated areas allow for personal consultations within the retail setting. Functional elements like the counter and meeting area are integrated in a way that keeps the space practical but still comfortable and open.
