In a unique and enjoyable experience, we participated in the Egyptian Pavilion Design Competition at the Venice International Biennale of Architecture 2023, the project won an appreciation award after a strong competition with a group of distinguished and honorable projects of Egyptian architecture, Which was designed by prominent names in the field of architecture in Egypt and the world, we were honored to have our name among them because they are always source of inspiration and encouragement.

Design idea:

Through history, cities have been considered living laboratories through which we can see and study previous experiences, learn and draw inspiration from them or avoid their mistakes, and it is surprising and striking the ability of man to define and meet his urban needs, whether with the help of science and expertise from planners and architects or once relying on his intuition, City dweller has long dazzled experts with creative ideas that are fully compatible with his needs, making them a permanent source of inspiration for them, so in periods of time when the designer forgets Amid the city's challenges, it puts those creations at risk of extinction. ​​​​​​​

Therefore, we decided to express the importance of these intuitive practices that have been and will continue to be a source of inspiration and respect in the past and the future using the element of "Ghiat Al-Hamam" or we can call it pigeons house , which is a pure creativity for the residents of densely populated areas in Egypt, especially Cairo, to meet their needs from open areas amid the congestion of the city, as it is a strong expression of freedom and hope that formed the sky line of popular areas in a dazzling way that makes us stand in front of it a lot to study and be inspired to form better future that meets city resident's needs.

Therefore, the decision was to build "Ghiat Al-Hamam" in its original form -  which will be unique and attracting element for Biennale visitors - with the expression of free pigeons in forms of paper hanging from the ceiling with the possibility of visitors to the pavilion to get inside the structure and use introductory paper about Egypt and its civilization in making origami pigeons and obtaining it as a souvenir from the exhibition.
