Urban Rooftop Garden – Modern Multifunctional Design

This project presents a conceptual design of a modern rooftop garden located in a dense urban environment. The design focuses on creating a multi functional, outdoor space that offers both relaxation and social interaction, while responding to the specific conditions of rooftop architecture.

The garden was conceived as an extension of the interior living space — a calm, green refuge above the city, combining functionality, aesthetics and environmental awareness.

The main design idea was to divide the rooftop into clearly defined functional zones while maintaining a coherent and open spatial structure. The layout includes areas for rest, social gatherings and everyday use, carefully balanced to ensure comfort and flexibility.

Planting design plays a key role in shaping the atmosphere of the space. Carefully selected plant species introduce seasonal variability, soften architectural elements and improve the microclimate of the rooftop. Greenery also provides partial screening from the surrounding buildings, enhancing privacy without closing the space.

Material choices emphasize durability and simplicity. Natural textures and neutral colors were selected to complement the urban context and allow the vegetation to remain the dominant visual element.

​​​​​​​The project responds to contemporary challenges of dense urban living. The rooftop garden contributes to improving environmental conditions by introducing greenery into the cityscape, supporting biodiversity and enhancing the quality of everyday life in a highly urbanized area.
