The task was to create a planting palette to transform an existing space (chosen by the student). The plants need to fit within the landscape of the site and be able to survive within its individual conditions depending on the chosen site.
The site is a go-between pathway leading into Norman Park station, Norman Park. The pathway is run down and is directly between the tracks and homes. This space is under-utilised and requires little maintenance.
The proposed design includes just under 175 individual plants that are hardy and do not require regular maintenance and watering. The site has many safety and security issues, so the plants chosen do not exceed a certain height and only have taller grasses at the back of the site to ensure passerby's' safety.
