Light Me Up

The goal of this project is to express myself. After considering how to capture my essence in a light fixture, I infused it with my core beliefs. Through this light, one can glimpse what I have experienced, what I find beautiful, and what I hold dear.​​​​​​​

This light is named after my belief that those who do what they love truly shine. I have a passion for shooting film photography, and my film captures my daily life, inspirations, and love. Just as a photograph can reveal a person’s thoughts, philosophy, and character, I believe film is the medium that best expresses who I am.

The lampshade is a cylindrical shape with open ends, and when unfolded, it reveals a rectangle. The cylinder is formed by the meeting of the starting and ending lines of the rectangle. I designed this shape to symbolize my aspiration to live a life that, as it approaches its end, stays true to my beginnings and follows a slow, gentle path. This idea is embodied in the cylindrical lampshade.
