The Fabled Speaker

Description: This Fabled Speaker emits feeling, sound, and functionality. I wanted this speaker to have an aesthetic appeal: the metal, wood, and etched acrylic meets my expectations. The butterflies and gold on this lantern give off an earthy feel with medieval details. The sound itself met my functional goal, not through a cone but through individual speaker boxes inside of the lantern to permit ample sound. The lantern is big enough to where the user will not lose the speaker which fulfills my human-centered goal. The lantern's shape allows the user to set it anywhere on a desk or piece of furniture. It is obvious where the sound is located. The human - centered design goal was met through the size of the speaker and in later iterations will be able to unlatch and latch so the user can carry and also open the lantern for ease of charging, but the core feature is met.
