Guest House Getaway
Client envisioned a retreat for family and out of town guests that taps into the power of green - the color hue that elicits serenity and calm. The transition through the space moves through a subtle, tonal shift - dark in the primary bedroom to the lightest in the
guest bedroom with a grounding luxury vinyl plank tying together the 1800 sq ft space.
Primary Bedroom
Working with the slanted roof required custom designed furniture (platform bed and low back chaise) and numerous, strategic placed lighting elements to balance natural light from skylights. The seating areas created the perfect reading and relaxation nooks.
Bathroom
Completely reconfigured the bathroom, creating a spa destination with large
soaking tub. Space was originally accessed in two different ways due to double
vanity in opposite rooms creating a nonsensical traffic jam - new flow is natural
and spacious. Custom designed zinc and maple vanity with soapstone vessel
supports client's multitexture, slightly modern design aesthetic.
Mini Kitchen
Truly one of a kind custom designed L-shaped counter constructed of
green veined soapstone and wenge wood is a huge wow factor. Open maple
open shelving below lightens up the space without heavy cabinetry. Adjacent
custom counter top eating area made from zebra wood and local artisan metal
work rounds of the newly functional space for guests.
Art Studio + Lounge
Open space provides creative outlet for client's artist daughter while offering
a custom designed hang out space complete with couch big enough to double
as additional sleeping space. Replaced all handrails through multilevel space with
custom Lucite rails and brass fittings.
Guest Bedroom
Double doors flanking both ends of the entire space provides air and and just enough morning sun to get the day started. Custom platform bed coupled with daybed provides for multi person accommodations with the entire getaway sleeping up to 7 comfortably.
