广州万科黄埔新城绿榕公园丨中国广州丨容心设计ROXin

ROXin容心设计：2023年3月，容心团队初次来到广州黄埔新城，开启了与这座新城的诗意绿色故事。初识场地，所有人都被一棵棵现状大树、一片片树林果园所吸引，尤其是这一排101棵林荫茂密的大榕树。我们希望尽可能多的保留场地中的原生大树，让这些绿色的画笔，留住这块场地的记忆，记录当下的故事，描绘未来的生活。

ROXin Design：In March 2023, the ROXin team visited Huangpu New Town in Guangzhou for the first time, beginning a poetic green story with this new city. Upon first seeing the site, everyone was captivated by the existing large trees, the orchards, and the patches of forest—especially the row of 101 lush, shade-giving banyan trees. We hope to preserve as many of the native large trees as possible, allowing these green brushes to retain the memory of this site, record the stories of the present, and depict the life of the future.▽项目视频

01 溯源Tracing the Source

Guangzhou Vanke Huangpu New Town, adjacent to the Guangzhou Economic Development Zone, is a key urban village renovation project in Guangzhou. The project’s Banyan Culture Center and Banyan Park are located at the core of this new town and are part of the future town center’s living facilities. They serve as important carriers for the four major living needs of the new town: culture, social interaction, neighborhood, and health. ▽项目区位

容心对新城的绿地系统也进行了梳理，目前多个风格、功能多元的口袋公园，链接形成了网状的体系。而绿榕公园就位于整个绿地系统的最中心位置，是新城的绿色、生态核心，是黄埔新城的绿色基点。

ROXin has also reorganized the green space system of the new town. Currently, multiple pocket parks with diverse styles and functions are linked together to form a networked system. Banyan Park is located at the very center of this entire green space system, serving as the green and ecological core of the new town and the green foundation of Huangpu New Town.

广州万科黄埔新城项目以沙步大道为主轴，起承转合为结构，在大盘的最中心“合”打造承载地缘传统文化与多维理想生活场景的小镇中心。

The Guangzhou Vanke Huangpu New Town project takes Shabu Avenue as its main axis, following a structure of “beginning, continuation, transition, and conclusion.” At the very center of this large-scale development, a “conclusion” is created to form a town center that embodies local traditional culture and multi-dimensional idealistic life scenarios.

万科“未来城市理想单元”是以活力、低碳、智慧为核心理念，营造环境生态宜居、人文底蕴深厚、智慧高效便捷的未来城市。榕·文化馆作为整个黄埔新城的“核”，联动绿榕公园、大脚印公园等其他配套设施，共同形成万科“未来城市理想单元”指导背景下的广州落地实践新范式。

Vanke’s “Future City Ideal Unit” is centered on the core concepts of vitality, low carbon, and intelligence, aiming to create a future city that is ecologically livable, culturally rich, and smartly efficient and convenient. The Banyan Culture Center, as the “core” of the entire Huangpu New Town, links with other supporting facilities such as Banyan Park and Big Footprint Park, jointly forming a new paradigm for Vanke’s “Future City Ideal Unit” implementation in Guangzhou.

02 初识First Acquaintance

场地内情况复杂，步入场地，首先映入眼帘的是榕树的海洋，尤其是车道旁的两排榕树，挺拔茂密，形成一条榕树大道，我们当下就决定要将这些榕树全部保留。榕道长280米，西接文化馆，东接融德里，北侧现状是还未拆除的住宅，未来则改建成为公园一部分（公园二期）。现状文化馆是整个新城最为烟火气浓郁的“小镇中心”，文化馆北侧是已建大脚印公园，西侧紧邻沙步大道，过街则是新开住宅的底层商业街区，南边就是榕树大道。面对复杂的周边环境，既需要“更新”，也需要“创新”，运用不同的设计策略，塑造不同空间场景，实现场地真正价值。

The site is complex. Upon entering, the first thing that catches the eye is a sea of banyan trees, especially the two rows along the driveway—tall and dense, forming a banyan avenue. We immediately decided to preserve all of them. The banyan avenue is 280 meters long, connecting the Cultural Center to the west and Rongdeli to the east. To the north are residential buildings that have not yet been demolished, which will be converted into part of the park (Phase II) in the future. The existing Cultural Center is the most vibrant “town center” of the entire new town. To its north lies the already completed Big Footprint Park, to its west is Shabu Avenue, across which lies the ground-floor commercial district of newly opened residential buildings, and to its south is the banyan avenue. Faced with this complex surrounding environment, both “renewal” and “innovation” are required. Different design strategies should be employed to shape different spatial scenarios and realize the true value of the site.

03 重塑Reshape

榕·文化馆——小镇中心

榕·文化馆，以整体木构为风格基础，是小镇中心的“核”，室内包含花时餐厅、花时营地、钢琴演奏、品牌展示中心等活动空间。景观以榕·文化馆为中心，根据现场的不同状况，提出展示、聚集、延伸、串联、衔接五大设计策略，希望通过景观设计方法，使室内外衔接联动互通，相互映衬融合。

Banyan Culture Center – Town Center

The Banyan Culture Center, based on an overall wooden structural style, serves as the “core” of the town center. Its interior includes activity spaces such as Huashi Restaurant, Huashi Camp, piano performance areas, and a brand exhibition center. With the Banyan Culture Center as the focal point, five design strategies—display, gathering, extension, connection, and integration—are proposed according to different site conditions. It is hoped that through landscape design methods, the interior and exterior can be connected, linked, and integrated, complementing each other.

The south side of the Banyan Culture Center serves as the main entrance to Banyan Park, where the corner image display, the entrance to Banyan Avenue, and the multi-level space of Music Square need to be integrated.

榕·文化馆北侧是文化馆的主要展示和外延空间，是小镇的活动中心，需打造最具烟火气的场景，同时衔接西侧住宅的底层商业空间形成串联空间体验。

The north side of the Banyan Culture Center serves as the main exhibition and extension space of the cultural center and is the activity hub of the town. It design intervention was needed to create the most vibrant and lively atmosphere, while also connecting with the ground-floor commercial space of the residential buildings to the west to form a continuous spatial experience. ▽场地空间分析

榕梦广场，岁月之枝

沙步大道与五横路转角路口是新城的中心区域，是形象展示的重要窗口，但现场情况相对复杂，现状电房短期无法拆除影响观瞻和道路修建，现状大榕树、大木棉则需要保留。因此我们在设计时需要考虑近期与远期效果。我们运用植物让“电房”消失，同时保留现状大榕树作为道路中岛的主景，兼顾了公园与道路双重景观效果。

0号榕树 岁月之枝

“留住精神原乡，尊重土地记忆。”

现状有一棵美丽的榕树正好处于规划道路的马路中央，考虑到影响交通安全，是否留下这棵榕树成了一个问题。最终，我们将这棵大榕树保留成绿岛，成为十字路口的转角标志。我们为它取名叫做岁月之枝，让承载古老记忆的榕树见证了城市变迁，以此激励社区居民关注环境保护和珍惜自然。

Banyan Dream Square, Branch of Time

The intersection of Shabu Avenue and Wuheng Road is the central area of the new town and an important window for image display. However, the site is relatively complex: the existing electrical room cannot be demolished in the short term, affecting the visual appeal and road construction, while the large banyan trees and kapok trees need to be preserved. Therefore, we need to consider both short - term and long - term effects in our design. We use plants to make the “electrical room” disappear, while retaining the existing large banyan trees as the main feature of the traffic island, balancing the dual landscape effects of the park and the road.

No. 0 Banyan Tree, Branch of Time

“Preserve the spiritual homeland, respect the memory of the land.”

A beautiful banyan tree currently stands right in the middle of a planned road. Considering its impact on traffic safety, whether to preserve this tree became a dilemma. Ultimately, we decided to retain this majestic banyan tree as a green island, making it a landmark at the intersection. We named it the “Branch of Time,” allowing this banyan tree, which carries ancient memories, to witness the city’s transformation, thereby inspiring community residents to care for environmental protection and cherish nature.

The sculpture in the corner square is themed “Banyan Dream – Sonata of a Splendid Life,” inspired by the vigorous vitality of the banyan tree. Made of mirror-finished stainless steel, it combines a water curtain and programmed lighting to create a dazzling and dreamy atmosphere. The square also serves as the “source of water” for the park. From here, water is channeled into Banyan Avenue, creating a new interactive water-play scene under the trees.

榕树大道是转角广场的绿色天际线，6m高的雕塑低于榕树树冠，如同一道炫动的线条在绿色画布上作画。站在广场上，可以透过雕塑、榕道看到远处的音乐剧场与榕·文化馆，形成丰富的景观视线层次。

Banyan Avenue serves as the green skyline of the corner square. The 6-meter-high sculpture sits below the canopy of the banyan trees, like a dynamic line painting on a green canvas. Standing on the square, one can look through the sculpture and Banyan Avenue to see the distant Music Theater and Banyan Culture Center, creating a rich layering of sightlines.

音乐剧场 聚集活力

剧场以“圆”为主要设计元素，从内到外形成多层次景观空间。中心区域以圆形铺装和花池座椅为主，用涟漪状的铺装方式，呼应了转角广场“水”元素，圆形花池为水洗石和黄锈石拼叠而成，形成丰富的材料变化。外围区域用廊架、座椅围合，形成了有趣的互动串联关系，内外借景。音乐剧场植物丰富，花池内种植鱼木，开花之时风格独特。树下种植绣球，芙蓉菊，银叶驳骨丹，大吴风草等花卉植物，层次丰富。

Music Theater – Gathering Vitality

The theater takes the “circle” as its main design element, forming a multi-layered landscape space from the inside out. The central area is dominated by circular paving and flower-bed seating. The ripple-like paving pattern echoes the “water” element of the corner square. The circular flower beds are made of a combination of washed stone and yellow rust stone, creating a rich variation in materials. The peripheral area is enclosed by pergolas and seating, forming an interesting interactive and connective relationship, borrowing views from both inside and outside. The Music Theater is rich in plants. The flower beds contain Crateva religiosa trees, which have a unique character when in bloom. Under the trees, hydrangeas,芙蓉菊 (Crossostephium chinense), 银叶驳骨丹, and 大吴风草 (Farfugium japonicum) are planted, creating rich layering.

04 重塑Reshape

榕林水线

水线全长125M，起始于榕梦雕塑，自街角城市广场延伸至榕树道下。水线在延伸过程中高低起伏，产生多样的玩水方式与互动体验。场地划分为多个功能区，包括榕·聚场、水阶步步、榕林溪谷、榕脉迷径、波光水道、潮汐水廊、浪浪花环以及林下看护区。总共设计了造型喷泉、雾森、水滑梯、跌水台阶、雨帘、水拱门、互动喷泉、涌泉、片状出水墙、瀑布等十余种戏水体验，鼓励孩子们在林荫下自由探索，尽情享受水的乐趣。

Banyan Waterline

The waterline spans a total length of 125 meters, starting at the Banyan Dream Sculpture and extending from the corner urban square to the area under the banyan trees. As it extends, the waterline rises and falls, creating diverse ways to play with water and interactive experiences. The site is divided into multiple functional zones, including Banyan Gathering Place, Water Steps, Banyan Forest Valley, Banyan Vein Maze, Rippling Waterway, Tidal Water Corridor, Wave Flower Ring, and Under-Forest Care Area. A total of more than ten types of water-play experiences have been designed, including sculpted fountains, mist systems, water slides, stepped waterfalls, rain curtains, water arches, interactive fountains, bubbling springs, sheet water walls, and waterfalls, encouraging children to freely explore under the shade of the trees and fully enjoy the fun of water.

这条榕树道串联起城市活力与文化记忆。起点以水景广场激活街角，中段设置彩色沙池增添童趣，末端自然过渡至静谧的融德里历史街区。通过动静分区的空间序列，配合统一的榕树景观框架，形成层次丰富的线性体验。设计既保留了历史街区的文化气质，又为城市注入了现代活力，让人们在漫步中感受时空的渐变。

This banyan tree-lined path connects the city’s vitality with its cultural memories. The starting point features a water feature square that activates the street corner. A colorful sandpit is placed in the middle section to add a sense of childlike fun. The end naturally transitions into the serene historical district of Rongdeli. Through a spatial sequence that separates active and quiet zones, combined with a unified banyan landscape framework, a richly layered linear experience is created. The design not only preserves the cultural character of the historical district but also injects modern vitality into the city, allowing people to experience the gradual transition of time and space as they stroll along.

我们特地安排了冬季与夏季的两次拍摄，旨在捕捉榕道在不同季节中迥异的风貌与气质。冬日之际，榕道在水池的静谧倒映中，流露出一种深邃的宁静，仿佛时间在这里缓缓流淌。

We specially arranged two photo shoots, one in winter and one in summer, to capture the distinct appearance and atmosphere of Banyan Avenue in different seasons. In winter, Banyan Avenue reflects a profound serenity in the quiet pool, as if time is flowing slowly here.

到了夏日，这片榕道则化身为孩子们的戏水天堂，戏水与林荫的双重享受让这里充满了清凉与活力，榕道也因此变得生动而活泼。

In summer, this banyan avenue transforms into a water-play paradise for children. The dual enjoyment of playing in the water and shade under the trees fills the area with coolness and vitality, making Banyan Avenue lively and vibrant.

榕脉迷径

以榕树气生根为灵感设计的峡谷探险小径，引领你穿梭于绿意盎然的峡谷深处，沿途不经意间触发各式互动水景装置，带来沉浸式的探险体验。

Banyan Vein Maze

Inspired by the aerial roots of banyan trees, the canyon adventure trail leads you through the lush depths of the canyon. Along the way, you may inadvertently trigger various interactive water features, providing an immersive exploration experience.

浪浪花池

设计以椭圆形水景打破原有榕树阵列的线性空间秩序，几何形态的介入重构场地视觉焦点。通过水磨石的浪浪造型与明亮的马赛克材质对比，强化花池的艺术表现力。针对大规格苗木的选型难题，巧妙采用三株凤凰木构成点景组合，既满足空间尺度需求，又形成特色植物景观。

Wave Flower Pool

The design breaks the original linear spatial order of the banyan tree array with an oval water feature. The intervention of geometric forms reconstructs the visual focus of the site. By contrasting the wave-like shape of terrazzo with bright mosaic materials, the artistic expression of the flower bed is enhanced. To address the challenge of selecting large-sized nursery stock, three flame trees are cleverly used to form a specimen planting group, which not only meets the spatial scale requirements but also creates a distinctive plant landscape.

文化绿毯

作为连接沙步文化馆与融德里历史文化街区的重要通道，我们以传统夔龙纹为灵感，精心设计了富有文化内涵的铺装艺术。红黄色调的暖色石材铺陈出蜿蜒的夔龙纹样，宛如一条巨龙游走于榕荫之下，既象征着岭南文化的源远流长，又暗喻着这条通道作为串联古今的时空纽带。

Cultural Green Carpet

As an important passage connecting Shabu Cultural Center and Rongdeli Historical and Cultural District, we have carefully designed paving art with rich cultural connotations, inspired by the traditional Kui dragon pattern. The warm-colored stone materials in red and yellow present a winding Kui dragon pattern, resembling a giant dragon swimming under the shade of the banyan trees. This not only symbolizes the long-standing history of Lingnan culture but also implies that this passage serves as a time-space link connecting the past and the present.

设计过程中，现场铺装样板段，判断红色系石材的拼接效果。洒水后，红色石材更加鲜艳明显。

During the design process, a paving sample section was created on site to evaluate the拼接效果 of the red-toned stones. After watering, the red stones became more vivid and pronounced.

林龟逸境

以柏坡黄石材打造龟壳造型，镶嵌于绿意中，丰富景观层次。设计利用铜钱纹造型篦子填补石材间的缝隙，既美观地隐藏了喷雾系统，又承载着美好吉祥的寓意。每当喷雾系统定时启动，水雾缭绕，孩子们便爬上龟背，感受这个林中神龟带来的独特乐趣。龟背水景与榕道结合，凸起的造型丰富了榕道下景观空间，延续了玩水的功能属性，是榕树大道中的重要节点。

Turtle in the Forest – A Hidden Retreat

A turtle shell shape is created using Baipo Yellow stone, embedded in the greenery to enrich the landscape layering. The design uses copper-coin-patterned grilles to fill the gaps between the stones, which not only aesthetically conceals the mist system but also carries a beautiful and auspicious meaning. Whenever the mist system is activated at set times, water vapor swirls around, and children climb onto the turtle’s back to experience the unique joy brought by this divine forest turtle. The turtle-back water feature, combined with Banyan Avenue, enriches the landscape space under the trees with its raised form, continuing the functional attribute of water play, and has become an important node on Banyan Avenue.

龟背由石材拼接组成，施工过程中也进行了小比例的打样。石块直接设置金属篦子，篦子以下设置雾喷，增加了节点的可玩性，以钱币为元素的篦子与龟背造型结合，寓意祥瑞。

The turtle shell is composed of stone pieces, and a small-scale prototype was also made during the construction process. Metal grilles are placed directly on the stones, with mist nozzles installed beneath them, enhancing the playability of the node. The coin-patterned grilles, combined with the turtle shell shape, symbolize good fortune.

城市草坪

跑道蜿蜒穿过开阔的城市草坪，两侧列植宫粉紫荆。春日里，粉白相间的花朵如云似雾，为城市铺就一条浪漫的花径。这片绿意盎然的开放空间，为城市注入清新活力，也成为城市的欢乐营地，夜幕降临的时候，人们吃起烧烤、搭起帐篷、播放起露天电影，美好生活的画面如此生动。

Urban Lawn

The running track winds through the open urban lawn, lined with pink-flowered bauhinia on both sides. In spring, the pink and white blossoms resemble clouds and mist, paving a romantic floral path for the city. This lush green open space injects fresh vitality into the city and has become a joyful campground. When night falls, people barbecue, pitch tents, and watch outdoor movies, creating a vivid picture of a beautiful life.

05 后记 Postscript

小镇中心，是黄埔新城的核，是未来城市的示范区，代表着新城的未来。而榕树，是这片土地的主人，从扎根那天起，就与城市共生长，从之前城中村的行道树，到如今绿榕公园的景观大道，榕树见证了这块土地的过去、现在，更会见证未来。

作为景观设计师，榕树是我们在这个项目中最好的伙伴，我们希望与榕树一起，讲好榕树的故事，讲好这块土地的故事，向上迎接城市的生长，向下发掘埋藏的时光。

The town center is the core of Huangpu New Town, a demonstration area of the future city, representing the new town’s future. The banyan tree is the master of this land. Since taking root, it has grown together with the city—from a street tree in the former urban village to the landscape avenue of today’s Banyan Park. The banyan tree has witnessed the past and present of this land and will continue to witness its future.

As landscape designers, the banyan trees are our best partners in this project. We hope to tell the story of the banyan trees and the story of this land together with them—reaching upward to embrace the growth of the city, and reaching downward to unearth the buried time.
