Project description: Can Thanh is a coastal town in Vietnam where the community relies on fishing, aquaculture, and coastal farming for their livelihood. In the past, urban development led to land reclamation from the sea by dumping sand, disrupting the natural habitat and traditional livelihoods. Now, rising sea levels, exacerbated by climate change, pose an even greater threat to this fragile balance. Our team reimagines urban development by emphasizing progress in harmony with nature, where growth is deeply interconnected with the environment.

+2030: we will begin installing modular solutions aimed at restoring green spaces along the coast, with regenerated mangroves playing a crucial role in reducing erosion and protecting the shoreline.

+2050: as certain areas become prone to flooding, our focus will shift to restoring aquaculture farming, ensuring that local residents can continue their traditional livelihoods in a changing landscape.

+2080: our vision sees nature fully reintegrated into the city, with not only plants but also birds and wildlife returning to coexist, creating a thriving, biodiverse urban environment.

This approach offers a visionary perspective on sustainable development, ensuring that Can Thanh remains resilient and vibrant in the face of rising sea levels and climate challenges.
