GIA LAI KINDERGARTEN
Located in Pleiku, a sun-drenched and wind-swept highland region, Gia Lai Kindergarten is more than just a school—it is a learning ecosystem inspired by the raw beauty of the earth and the rhythm of the Central Highlands.
Design Philosophy: Converging Curves
Breaking away from rigid, box-like structures, the project embraces a biophilic design language defined by soft, flowing curves that echo the rolling hills surrounding local villages.
At its core lies an open courtyard—a “green heart”—where natural light and fresh air circulate freely, nurturing children’s development through a seamless connection with nature.
Local Materials & Architectural Expression
The project celebrates traditional exposed brick, carefully arranged and custom-designed for this development.
This approach not only creates a breathable façade that enhances natural ventilation and reduces heat gain, but also produces dynamic patterns of light and shadow along the corridors.
A defining feature is the system of gently sloping ramps and stairways that rise from the ground to the rooftop garden, transforming everyday circulation into an inspiring spatial journey of exploration for children.
Sustainability Mission
By combining raw, local materials with intelligent passive climate strategies, Gia Lai Kindergarten stands as a testament to sustainable architecture—low energy, rich in experience.
Here, every brick and every patch of greenery contributes to shaping a human-centered and creative worldview for future generations.
