Dynamic Exterior Sketch #2
Architectural Visualization Concept Development
This project is a continuation of my fast exterior sketch exploration, where the goal was to develop a dynamic architectural composition and transform it into a full visualization.
The main focus of this exercise was movement, composition, and atmosphere — creating an image where architecture feels like the main character while the surrounding environment supports the narrative.
Concept Exploration — Black & White Sketches
At the beginning, the focus was purely on composition and movement.
Working in black and white allowed me to concentrate on:
silhouette readability
contrast between buildings and sky
perspective flow
balance between architecture and public space
The key idea was to create a dynamic viewpoint, where the viewer feels drawn into the space through the curved promenade leading toward the towers.
At this stage I also started collecting and generating references to better understand materials, landscape composition, and the mood of the scene.
Blocking the 3D Model
After establishing the core composition, the next step was translating the sketch into a 3D base model.
During this stage I focused on:
defining the architectural volumes
setting the main camera perspective
blocking the landscape structure
establishing the proportions between towers and public space
The goal was not detail yet, but rather confirming that the spatial composition works in 3D.
Environment Development
Once the base model was approved, I started building the surrounding environment and adding architectural detail.
Key elements introduced at this stage:
Guiding curved linesThe promenade and landscape elements were designed to subtly guide the viewer’s eye toward the towers.
Facade rhythm and claddingThe facade grid and material structure were refined to create a clear vertical rhythm.
Graphic composition using greeneryTrees and vegetation were used not only as decoration but as compositional tools that frame the architecture.
Creating the feeling of a crowdHuman figures were placed strategically to introduce scale and urban activity without distracting from the buildings.
Raw Render
The raw render establishes the base lighting and material interaction.
At this stage the focus was on:
realistic glass reflections
soft evening light direction
balanced exposure between sky and architecture
overall readability of the scene
Even though the image is technically complete at this point, it still lacks atmosphere and storytelling.
Final Polish
The final step was about bringing life into the image.
Main improvements included:
Highlighting the main buildingThe primary tower needed to feel like the hero of the scene, so subtle lighting and reflections were enhanced to draw attention.
Vegetation detailingAdditional variation and depth were added to the greenery to make the environment feel richer and more natural.
Bringing people to lifeHuman silhouettes were refined and adjusted to feel more integrated into the space and enhance the sense of an active urban plaza.
The result is an image that balances architecture, atmosphere, and human scale, creating a believable and engaging urban moment.
